Heh I did the opposite and switched from blue jeans lc1 to solid core silver, but shielded. I'm hearing more detail and like it

I dont believe that cable makes much, if any, difference.
However, I do believe that you must have a complete system with the certain conductor, atleast to get the most benefits from it. So either you have a system completly wired in silver, inside the amps and so on aswell, or gtfo :D Otherwise, I like to say that theres a difference between a good and a bad cable, but there is no difference between a 1k cable and 10k cable! :D

So I like how Audio Note sells complete lines where u can choose silver or copper.

The MIT Oracle has SIT® (Stable Image Technology) and JFA® (Jitter Free Analog), though.

    Just sayin'.

Does MIT make a cable with Free Audio Goodness technology?

I'm trying to get people to buy cheap Pangea cables, but they won't listen!

I'm pretty sure JFA® uses a femto clock in the cable. Those things aren't cheap. Price is justified!

For all this yammering about cables, that guy who had the crazy cleaning/polishing routine for his connectors was probably doing more good than cryo treatments ever did.

You know Gavin Fish used to work for MIT cables, right? FWIW, I do use MITs, as they are more adaptive to different setups, dark, lean, etc.

I think it depends on the headphones.
When I had silver plated interconnects, I HATED them with the HD800. It made them bright, unlistenable & piercing.

Yet when I tried a ZMF blacwoods headphone with the interconnects, which have a very dark signature, All it did was add detail to the headphones. It's like it removed a veil from the sound.

The LCD-2 might be a good match for them.

Oddly I gotta disagree with you there, Marv. When I added JPS cables to my setup (at the time I was borrowing one of Tari's DACs---can't remember the name atm---coupled with the LAu), I felt there was an appreciable improvement. Definitely not worth the asking price, but I liked it FWIW. Definitely not smeared poop. Also Alex liked the JPS wire enough to use it in his amps, so maybe I'm not just being a fool here lol.

I did not like them at all on the Abyss. I immediately got rid of the JPS cables after I shoehorned stock Audeze cables into the Abyss. No, not smeared poop, but twangy sharp timbre (which works well from amps that sound like smeared poop). But this is exactly my point with cables. System synergies and personal preferences lead to different not better, with little correlation to price.

FWIW, I think the LAu is not liquid poop, yet it worked with the JPS cables (both with the Abyss and interconnects) oddly enough? Maybe Tari's DAC counter balanced it out or something, but IDK. That was too long ago, back when I still cared about getting good sound from my computer.

If there's one thing I've learned about how our tastes compare over the years, it's that I tend to agree with you 9 times out of 10, but that one time is a major "wtf?" for me LMAO. Wouldn't have it any other way, tho.

No, the LAu is not liquid poop. But the tube amp that JPS lugs around to shows might be. Their overall package with the Mytek + Romantic Tube Amp + JPS cables + Abyss works though, with each part playing off the strengths of the other parts - although not to my taste.

    LOL, so true.

I only agree with Marv 50% of the time. Mojo? HD650 over HD600? The Jupiter? All WTF moments for me.

Back to cables: great cheap interconnects for the non-DIY inclined can be had at markertek. They'll do custom lengths and use the nice neutrik connectors as well.
