yes dudes, visit but give us advance notice so we can meet up.
heck, ZD probably has never even seen denver- much less an authentic burrito diner downtown.

@jexby: burritos are total crap in Colorado. There's something weirdly fundamentally wrong with what's considered a good burrito here compared to California.

Finally... free time, checked up on forums, saw Schiit's Loki changed from a digital to analog component. What a trickster! What's next???

Gonna bomb all threads with as much content as I can possibly muster. I think I should do that rather than complaining about noise level. :)

Heard so much about the modded 580 and always wondered why there was no guide for it. Thanks for sharing. Now I need to find a 580

@Melvillian - I haven't been looking lately but Ebay was a good place when I was. (Just took a look, a bit more expensive than it used to be but still not bad, IMO. And it changes all of the time.)

Hi there. I'd love to hear some impressions about how your new Code-X compares to some of the other offerings you've heard over the years. I'll soon have a Code-X of my own, and I'd love to read more about them from someone with ears as well-tuned as yours seem to be.

Hi. I'm a bit biased when it comes to Code-X, since it's pretty much my perfect reference when it comes to response (down to measurement), so there's that.

But the expectation is basically a more (much more) sensitive 4-screw HE-6 with slightly smoother transient and everything else somewhat the same, even down to tonality.

I'm assuming you're referring to a modded 4-screw HE-6 and not a stock one? I always felt my modded HE-6 was light on sub-bass even out of my speaker amps, and I'm hoping my Code-X will improve in this area, as well as be rid of that 9-10k peak that the 6 has.

Yeah. I have heard ohhgourami's modded HE-6, and that's what I was referring to. If you are hearing the HE-6 as being light on sub bass, then I suspect you might want to try a different amp. It's not just power that you're looking for. Code-X is indeed a lot better with regards to amping requirements.

Luckily with @Marvey posting his evil overlord manifesto, there haven't been a donkey-cartload of posts despite the number of visitors. Barring the Cavalli Massdrop thread, which I might have to unwatch so I stop effing getting emails about it.

Andromeda is quickly turning into a definitive reference for me. And my room is clogged with gears. Maybe it's time I do a fire sale.

As Marv said, tips make a huge difference. So far silicone tips fit me best, though. The included foam tips are either too big or too small. Nothing in between. And it feels like silicone tips give better bass control.

Anywho... Andro definitely negates many other headphones to me. I'm actually debating whether I should keep just Andro and let everything else go...

I was compelled to sell a lot of gear recently. With Andromeda and Dragonfly Red I don't feel like I'm missing much. I think need 1 more ohm in my life though...

Hey Bill, I just bought some PM-3s and I'm probably going to mod them. Can you tell me more about what you did and how I could do it? I also love bass, so I'm trying to figure out how to increase lower presence in these if possible. Your mod seems to bring down the treble and up the mids, while bass stays mostly normal?

        Any help much appreciated :-)
