Early 70's, had a BBC News friend who brought a Nagra portable home. Absolutely one of the most wonderful things I have ever touched! I sometimes see Air India recording concerts with Nagra digital boxes. Even they are about $4k each. The tape machines probably sell as antique artworks now

@DigMe, the Nagra I saw was certainly pocketable. But that would have got my friend into a lot of trouble. I'm wondering, now, what sort of portable power source it had. I either didn't find out, or have forgotten. Ti-ger, perhaps.

Yes I suggested a change to the socket might be a good idea...and XLR as it's a dual mono design. I'd also want some speaker outs at this level....it's 10.5wpc. If you're ever in the area, feel free to drop by for a listen :-).

We just need JA/Stereophile and TAS to stop shilling this pos and it'll quietly sink into the black hole where it belongs. Not sure if that's going to happen, but the more people with proper music chops come out against it, the better.

That's generally how I use my Jot, it and the tube amp are fed from the same Gen5 Gumby and the tubes get warmed up for deliberate musiktiem. The Jot is great for feeding my powered nearfields and driving some 650s for gaming, though.

The PAPs are built by the user saving shipping costs. I have the horridly expensive Voxativ Ac-Pi-Fe drivers and the PAP framework.

I am waiting on custom walnut baffles, Eminence OB-15A-Neo woofers and Leonidas crossover.

Trying to figure out toddler proof protection for the Voxativs in the mean time! :-)
