I have successfully installed foobar2k with the WASAPI plugin on Win 10 PRO. I set my sound control panel to exclusive control (Playback devices -> properties -> advanced exclusive mode both checkboxes checked). I get great sound.

I can remote into this desktop from an ipad and control foobar fine. I made sure that the microsoft remote app config specifies 'play audio on remote device'. Beautiful sound comes out of the system. However, if I close the app, sound stops and foobar informs me of an unrecovreable error. Logging back in, quitting and restarting foobar fixes this.

    Has any solved this?

It's probably some quirk related to passing the audio stream between RDP and local. See if you can use ASIO in foobar. Also, try a VNC server/client instead of RDP. You can also try Jump or Screens on the iPad instead of the MS client for RDP.

There's also a foobar remote plugin that will let you use Apple's remote app on the iPad to control foobar.

thank i'll try you for your reply and all these suggestions. But the foobar app on iTunes is not a remote-there is something called monkeyMote. The other apps do not have trials. I will try ASIO

No, there's a foobar add in that makes it work with the apple remote app. I'll dig up a link for you.

Foobar also has a uPNP/DNLA plug in which should allow you to control it remotely with a suitable iOS app:

    http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_upnp

Note: I have not tried to do this myself.

There is also a foobar2000 controller for Android phones, don't know if that's of any use.

The foobar controller I use on my Galaxy Note 4 is called FooBarCon and it's pretty cool.
