    I realized the NAD VISO HP50 graph was off, here is what it should look like:

    the weird thing for me is that I actually HEAR the big mid-high hump that everyone compensates out. not really sure how or why, but basically every headphone ever made has a huge like 10db hump in the mid-highs that makes them unlistenable for me. have to EQ it flat before compensation to listen to anything

    You mean you hear a curve like the raw curves? So an HD650 would be 10db forward at 3.5kHz? That would be very weird indeed. Going from memory the SR007, Abyss and the Tascam TH02 (Teac CT-H02 on IF) look like good options in that case.

    I do think I hear in-ears somewhat like that, where my target curve is essentially an inverse IEC coupler curve: Flat to 500-600Hz, then a 5-6db rise to 2kHz after which it's flat again. Or something like that anyway - I don't have a definite in-ear FR target yet.
