Watches are awesome. Look at Hodinkee and check out their SIHH 2018 (big watch thing) coverage. In March will be Baselworld, the other big watch thing, fun times!

Theo & Harris, Hodinkee and the others yeah today was full of them. At one point I will either get a Seiko SKX or Unimatic tool watch. After that a Rolex Explorer or Submariner 40/39/36mm. I am already thinking years ahead now. This is too much fun and I am going to enjoy it...

I'm in the same boat. Currently in the market for something with a leather band and black face. I've got about 15 of them on my Amazon wishlist to help me make up my mind :P

Consider a nato-strap. So many budget watches come with compromised straps. The utilitarian nato-strap makes such a big difference.

Considered it. My sites are currently set on this, but I don't know if I can get away with an oversized watch: https://goo.gl/dyLfb3

I have medium to thin wrists and I can rock a 42mm Steinhart weighing quite a lot. The nato-strap really keeps it comfortable. You can wear 45mm but find a strap that makes it feel and fit right. Since getting the Seiko 5 37mm I finally understood that big watches are not my thing. 42mm is plenty.

Some watches wear bigger and smaller than their measurements. Seiko Tunas for example wear smaller.
