Buying a bottle of the Springbank 25yo was an experience of a lifetime. Dropping trolley off with the luggage handler maniacs at the airport was unpleasant, knowing what was inside. But coming home and having first zip was a religious experience. Sigh.
My brother had this goal to drink a scotch that was older then he was. But it kept on getting more expensive every year. Finally around age 25 he bought a 30 yr bottle of Cragganmore.
I like a good scotch maybe even a bit more than the next guy, I just like bourbon more and bourbons more financially manageable. Great bourbons can be had for 30 bucks, Im not sure sure you start getting into a good single malt until the 50 or 60s its up up from there.
