My 21 year old friend doesnt like carbonated drinks, or fruit drinks for that matter. THat leaves him little to drink. He will try some irish cream next, he has heard that is good. He could only have about 1.5 shots of the captain morgan, as it was the 100 proof version, very strong, bad tasting. I don't think that affected him to much though
OK then, I suggest shot's of Bacardi 151 or Everclear 190 proof if "they" are feeling particularly macho. 151 and a beer chaser was my drink of choice when I was "their" age.
Dairy and alcohol have proven to be a bad combination when drunken in copious amounts, good luck... if "they"go that route.
my company's founders are from the midwest and have a strong affinity toward Malört. Every new employee has to take shots as part of the onboarding process.
Hmm, maybe that little amount did affect me. I seem very awake and am saying some weird stuff. Maybe not the best idea to start with 50% alcohol and be on a Wednesday. Oh well, class isn't until 10:50 tomorrow. But that is only 9 hours away.
And I am still not very tired yet. And still seem to be talking a lot, but now people went to sleep, so I guess I am just talking here. Idk why. Idk, there is no way I can still be drunk I drank it like 2 hours ago. But then again, my actions speak differently.
I have a bottle of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold here (vanilla rum). I don't drink, but I've used it multiple times to flambé apple crepes. It tastes quite well that way. I think other variations of Captain Morgan might taste different.
Plenty of booze in the world that might be a better jumping off point. Hard Cider maybe? Lots of liquors that mix super well in coffee. I remember back when my dad would give me coffee with a shot of Amaretto, and my friend's father would give us beer mixed with ginger ale...
In general, if you have to hide the taste of a liquor by mixing, then you shouldn't drink it. If you want to get drunk, or prevent people from pressuring you to get drunk, Everclear is the most efficient.
Perhaps we should start a new thread for our younger members on how to actually enjoy alcohol without endangering themselves. A bit like a newbie advice thread for audio.
If you don't like it, don't do it, unless it is eating vegetables. Only manchildren don't eat veggies. Other than that, find something you like and enjoy it in moderation while watching your friends act like idiots.
Wow, comment on drinking here gets much more replys than an audio comment. @Gaspasser don't worry, would never drink and drive. I could see myself buying something though... @ButtUglyJeff Yes, I would have though there would be a better option, but this is what we had on hand. It didn't smell bad. Tasted bad and burned though... I don't like apples/cider or coffee, so that's not the way to go
@Deep Funk the captain morgan didn't smell bad on its own. Like vanilla. But tasted strong. @fraggler that sounds like a good idea, somone make that guide @Kunlun I eat potatoes. That uh... counts as a vegetable, kinda. SO far I have just been drinking nothing and watching my friends act like idiots. But ill join in a bit If i can find something that isn't terrible.
I started a thread. Spent too much time and barely scratched the surface of what could be shared. Will return to it later once I get some real work done.
It used to be a bit of a girlie drink back in the day when my generation was too young to be doing what we were doing, but wtf: it is is delicious and it isn't fizzy. Oh, That's rum and blackcurrant juice, in case the terminology is different over there.
I've been off alcohol for thirteen years now. but, so far as rum goes, *Pusser's* was the thing.
