Well you might not feel that way, but it's not hard to see why people are frustrated. Sometimes it feels like Asian ppl get shortchanged in Hollywood. I'm sure actual Japanese ppl don't care though.

I can see the argument. The movie is filled with homages/Japanese anachronisms and that combined with Anderson's style can come across as very condescending. I personally thought the movie was charming and the only strange thing I noticed was that none of the dogs have Japanese names.

That being said, Jen Yamato (I assume this is where you saw this spicy hot take) is terrible.

Not sure that their going be paying top dollar for someone to sit in a car and stare out the window for hours on end.

From following Uber on tech news sites for years, I would fully expect them to pay the bare minimum and try to get away with anything they can.

Convenient as Uber is (at least compared to taxis here in the Manila area), they can be skeevy as f**k sometimes. I use it fairly often since I don't have my own car and mass transit can be a massive PITA, plus I chat often with drivers— loads of them hate it and feel like the system has too much fun shafting them and wringing them dry.

Which is why I don't use card. Cash payments mean tips if they're not assholes.

Otherwise put it to a vote for those that are Friends or at least Contributed to the upkeep of this site. The downtime was unannounced and there was no other technical reason for it that was announced.

My brother had this goal to drink a scotch that was older then he was. But it kept on getting more expensive every year. Finally around age 25 he bought a 30 yr bottle of Cragganmore.

I like a good scotch maybe even a bit more than the next guy, I just like bourbon more and bourbons more financially manageable. Great bourbons can be had for 30 bucks, Im not sure sure you start getting into a good single malt until the 50 or 60s its up up from there.

Could be placebo, but this would explain why my new >10k serial number HD 800 S bass hasn´t annoyed me much at all... I remember feeling quite different with the original low sn one I got back when it was first released.
