Getting PRK was like the best thing I ever did, would never go back

I'm heavily considering it now. Just too paranoid about regression over time or if an earthquake happens in the middle of the procedure, tracker loses position and I end up blind. Their description of cutting a flap on your eye doesn't help either.

Ugh, reminds me when I was blindsided by someone throwing a football, then coming off someone's arms and hitting me on the side of the face with my glasses on. I would have escaped it better but both my arms were occupied with bags I was carrying. Forced me to get a new pair of glasses.

That's why you should get PRK instead of lasik ;) no flap that way, healing takes a bit longer though

I think the recovery time for PRK or LASEK is too hard for me to justify. Overall should be fairly similar though, normalized after a year or so.

How bad are you're eyes? I was -6.5 in both eyes, and I would still say PRK is worth it to never have to worry about the flap opening again. Short term comfort vs long term security, easy decision for me to make ;)

Got PRK over two years ago, now. Never looked back. ;P
