Also found the Brubeck LP I've been searching for on clearance :)

Loved my MDs, first purchase I made back then that I didn't immediately regret. Amazing how the Dog line only goes backwards from there.

May want to get the upgrade to the Pro, if MrSpeakers still offers it. Very much worth it, easily his best T50RP can. Can't recall if you've owned that previously?

@k4rstar indeed. I had the MDPro for awhile, it improved on the MD in some aspects, but the fit was worse and the cord heavier. Now going back to the MD, I can say that these are really better. The Pro seemed to have lost some of the magic that the lush MD possesses.

He still offers it, @Huxleigh. It's pricey at $170 I believe. I remember finding the MDPro for $200 back in the day, but have since sold it due to fit issues that I described above.

Fair observations. I used my own cable in lieu of MrSpeakers' bulky offering. Don't recall the fit differing too much, though the 3.2 is certainly comfy in its way. Sonically, I liked how the Pro dialed back the mid bass in favor of improved sub bass response and slightly cleaner mids. But somewhat less lushness than the 3.2 as a result.

I think the reason I have such a fondness for the MDPro is because, unlike the miserable AD/AP, it was an "upgrade" to the 3.2 that actually delivered what was marketed. Not worth $170 today, but I thought it a good deal at the time.

Nothing wrong with that, the MDPro is an exceptional closed can and you would have to spend a lot more to do a lot better. And yeah, both the alphas were uninspiring. Haha.

CAUTION: if an old flame puts out right away after you reunite, make sure it doesn't have serious debt problems or a crazy recent ex. It sounds like you have a good handle on things, but old flames can still burn.

Thanks @aufmerksam for the wisdom. I'm trusting Dan enough that these don't randomly blowup on my head.
