Was gonna sell my Wyrd too, but then I realized I could probably use it as a linear power supply for my Raspberry Pi 2, totally worked!

Nice! Although I think you need to go easy on the USB devices in that case. The Wyrd is limited to 500mA. Hmmm this made me think of an experiment.

Wyrd -> RPi -> USB DAC

        vs

RPi -> Wyrd -> USB DAC

Just looked up the schematic to the Raspberry Pi 2. Older versions used a linear regulator for 3.3V and other voltages, but the RPi2 uses SMPS to convert the internal voltages. Granted USB powered devices only use 5V, but it's probably safer to use the Wyrd with the USB DAC rather then a linear supply for the RPi2.

Hahaha that's the spirit! I've also seen rumblings that they'll somehow be fixing the motion "problem" in next years models. Not that I know how without bfi or ditching sample and hold

        I don't have a Kuro, but I picked up a 51" F8500 when they were being discontinued. Can't beat that for $850.

This is what I tell myself while I contemplate getting it calibrated and waiting for OLED.

no offense to ielectrica but....id rather buy from a local place i know for sure is an authorized dealer and that has helped me out in the past. plus that ebay listing says 1699 now as well :P

I'm thinking of buying from ielectrica as well.

They have no return policy on large screen TVs, which makes me wary.

If you do buy from your local place, inquire about the return policy, you never know what happens & you don't want to be stuck with a 55" paper weight.

Some random thoughts after some A/Bing tonight:
God, the Andromeda is smooth. Like Colt .45 straight from Lando Calrissian's mouth to your ears smooth. And clear. It's like being at a pristine, crystal clear lake and you can see all the way to the bottom, all the different layers of life and vegetation all the way down, in perfect detail. And man, that soundstage, the way the music floats in, it's fantastic.

The Vega hits harder, is a bit muddier, but also is more propulsive and gritty. While Andromeda does sound excellent for rock, it's got a level of polish on everything that gives it almost a yacht rock feel. And hey, I love me some Steely Dan but not everything wants to be so smooth. If I'm cranking the New York Dolls the Vegas are where it's at.

I will try that james444 mod for the Vega at some point, just to compare, but for now I'm enjoying the contrasts between the two. These are truly TOTL IEMs. The Andromeda feels like a breakthrough for BA drivers honestly. Such an assured, cohesive sound. And the Vega is the party guy, making everything you throw at it sound so fun.

I remember series and convergence in the integral calculus course/Calc 2. Tacked on discussion of ODEs then, even drew integral curves and fields before the word "vector" ever came up.

It's been unused long enough that the math fell out of my head, so I have to play refresher with the math sequence.
