What do you use for cleaning vinyl and daily maintenance stuff? I need to figure something out soon.

Yeah, all I have is a brush, and it isn't great for actual dirty albums. I need to pick up a cleaning system myself... They're just pricey (or I'm cheap). The Lyra cart is far more revealing/picky of dirty albums than the Denon. Feeding the Jot, I heard all the surface noise (a bit brutal).

Also, as much as I enjoy Jot, ZD hands down kicks it ass. There is no comparison in layering/overall immersion. I thought the analog source might tilt things towards Jot, but if anything, it just made me enjoy ZD even more. Dammit.

Awww dude, get a vinyl cleaning system ASAP!!! Your cart and TT deserve it. My DIY ultrasonic cleaner with vinyl spaced at 1.5" as per Chris F's recommendation, then rinsed with a Spin Clean, and wow-a-wowee. Clean vinyl plays soooo nice, and looks sexy.

At the least get a Spin Clean. Less than $100 and works decently and quickly.

Or get a lazy Susan, brushes and some distilled water. After the tenth record you will be so motivated to get something automated.

Oh, and clean records will vastly increase the life of that Lyra. Think of it as stylus care.

Lyra Delos, my friend. I've had a lot more time with it as well, so I'll post some more thoughts eventually. Basically, I can say it's very neutral, and seems to bring out magic in strings/horns/trumpets/vocals.

Also very particular for noise and any poorly recorded material. Its magic is in the way it projects the sound... Beautiful separation of instruments with nice tonality.

Going from Lyra to Gungnir Multibit, soundstage shrinks in height/width, and everything sort of becomes more homogenous. Going from Lyra to Denon DL-103r, mids become warmer and become the star. Trumpets lose some magic and overall sophistication with the Denon, but less well recorded material becomes more tolerable as well. Denon is far less picky and seems to have magic in doing so.

There is a Lyra cart on practically all the big boy TTs at my local shop... The Analog Room.

Nice. Have you had a chance to give them a listen? I actually got a feel for their sound through YouTube recordings.

Yes I have. This guy likes the Etna. I think the table and Harbeth speakers I heard with it yesterday tend to be warm. And the phono section is a total unknown to me. But imaging and staging was spectacular, and dynamics were there. Listened to the PG Us album, and bass impact on Digging In The Dirt was impressive. Could have sat there listening all night.
