I never watch awards shows. Sick in bed and bored so I turned on the Grammys. Such a joy to see Tracy Chapman up there! What an icon. Feb 4, 2024

Yes, there was a news item. Happened on a plane. Exploding might be an exasperation, but they certainly burned and hurt the woman wearing them. melted into the carpet.

Oh wait, I just saw the next two or three profile posts about... exploding headphones <Blush>

There's always been commerce operating in Rock, but the intensity of the forces targeting teens to buy a lot of this crap is unprecedented and insane. Don't get me wrong, Toxic is an incredible song, but that is an exception. So much of it is disposable and cynical at heart. The opposite of Neil Young.

@DigMe Thanks for the tip! I've got a history with buying cables but I gave up and sold off everything some time ago. Been using the stock HD800 balanced cable ever since. I took the plunge on a balanced cable from Impact Audio, will be interesting to see if I can hear any difference with this one :)

@Changeling Cool. I don't know that you'll hear any difference or not but it's a great cable. Be prepared to wait. Lindsay makes them to order and mine shipped at right about 3 weeks after ordering.

I don't mind Blackstar instrumentally but honestly I think Bowie's singing sounds horrible on it. "In the vill-ar of Ormen" it's grating.

Maybe it was an artistic choice. The fact that his voice sounds a bit off works with the sound of the album in my opinion.

Listen to their (Jackson 5, MJ) old demo songs before they were singles. MJ used many rhythmic clues to get in his groove. JB was knows to uses vocal sounds for instance.
