Now, you guys can make light of this amplifier. But, here is a quote from what may be an actual owner (it wasn't clear on the ebay page). "very nice little amp- you should try it!" :)
I just started thinking about it and I wonder if he meant to post the price as 47,000 Greek drachma instead of US dollars. It comes out to around $150 USD.
@DigMe That would make sense about the Greek drachma rather than US dollars. But I have seen these amps up on ebay before, years ago. I had forgotten about them and when I saw it again I had the recollection. They were priced something like this back then.
Reminds me of the old comedy routine that goes something like this: How much for a hotdog? - $1 million. - How do you expect to sell hotdogs at that price? - I only need to sell one!
He used to list a 12k5 version as well. I built one similar to that version, it is my profile photo. The listings have been around for years and long ago it was about $80 after conversation from the Greek Drachma. I do think that their has just been an error in the re listing.
In his listing he has the schematic so it was easy to make one. Also looking at the data sheets for the 12K5 it was designed to be a simple car audio amplifier. Mine uses a Schiit sys for volume, and runs off a 6D battery supply.
Got an answer from the seller: "Your interest is greatly appreciated. Relevant information has been published today on euroelectron blogspot.
Found the blog post for that date at http://euroelectron.blogspot.com
"It would be nice if one day all who have built their versions of Pleiades amplifiers etc. show their designs. The best is the one that comes from the heart."
