I do consider myself really lucky. I don't really remember the whole thing but I saw a picture of the car and was really surprised at the damage. I'm guessing he stopped, considering the picture taken by my thesis supervisor who apparently drove me to the hospital

Wow... you did all that to the car and you're walking (even if limping) home in a day? Remind me not to walk into you! lol.
Bonnets are made to take the impact. What you did to the glass, though, both windscreen and headlight, must have left its marks on you.
Makes me think about why bullbars should not be allowed. I think they may not be in Europe. They are here.
