Have improved dramatically over the last several days. A joy to be alive. Also a joy to have great family, friends and musical experiences.

Thank-you all. Things are getting better but some changes in cardiac meds will occur. Living and aging is a dynamic process. Good musical experiences certainly help to enjoy the ride.

Good stuff, much less support calls when putting family on Linux. Which distro do you guys use? I set them up with elementaryos, really simple, clean and stable. Bit of an apple ripoff but who cares...

I used the ubuntu distro for my mother. She doesn't really notice much difference in her use of office tools and internet browser other than not as annoyed by "updates" and constant visual changes present in the windoz world.

Note to self. Not so young anymore. Don't attempt a detailed technical posting after a 14 hr corporate day. Will have to rework that one.

Hey there atomicbob! I hope all is well for you and that work is treating you nicely. I have a favor to ask of you. There's a fellow I'm in contact with on YouTube and he's working on a machine learning sound localization project. Would you mind checking out your Head-Fi PMs? Many thanks.

After the cardiac procedure I had an 8 week run-in with viral pneumonia and viral bronchitis. It took through middle of Jan 2017 to feel fully recovered. Still tired often but when the happy collision of light corporate responsibilities and feeling energetic occur, things like Saga measurements happen. Thank-you all for the kind thoughts.

health issues and corporate overload took a toll the last 8 months. A cardiac procedure and completion of a 4 yr project will improve my opportunity to contribute. See the MoMB technical data as an example. Will be limited by health recovery though.

See information section for my opinions
My enjoyment of particular recreational music systems is inextricably intertwined with my personal preferences. The following lists are representations of my tastes in music, components and listening levels. The section on music is only a sample of my library but should provide sufficient insight into my musical preferences. I am rigorous and exacting with component measurements. That doesn’t automatically make my opinions worth anything without context. Use the following information to decide how well your own preferences converge or diverge with mine when I make comments about equipment in the forum. DO NOT blindly assume a positive comment from me about some component or headphone will automatically translate to auditory happiness on your part. Likewise you may find yourself enjoying something that I don’t. Consider (learning) your own personal preference.

    Listening Levels dBSPL
    60~70 quiet, background listening
    70~80 recreational and critical listening
80~90 rocking out, often with libations at hand
90~100 Santana Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen, ELP Tank - drum solo

I tend to listen at quieter levels where electroacoustic transducers exhibit greater linearity. Higher levels are more likely to have greater distortion and require higher power amplification. The result is substantial deviation in opinions by listeners attempting to compare headphones when they are listening at different levels.
