No doubt they change the sound. The Complys, which work perfectly well for me with the SE846, make the Zeus R muddy, indistinct and clobber the treble to a shocking degree.
I should have mentioned this when you posted about getting an EE IEM, you need Spiral Dots to make then sound their best. Comply jacked up the bass and as you said made everything muddy. Spin Fits made everything flat. Spiral Dots offered an open, spacious sound without jacking the FR in any significant way.
