This reminds me of when we got an introductory email from a new Director. He used *none* of the "skills" you mentioned, in his wall of text. Plus, he stated that he had a pet peeve. He didn't ever want to see a contraction in any of our emails!
Ongoing, never-ending rant: All acronyms are abbreviations but not all abbreviations are acronyms. An acronym is a special case of abbreviation, a special thing: use the word properly or don't use it at all!
I started to type pretty-much as soon as I could read and write, so my fingers have known their way, roughly, around a keyboard since I was six or younger. I did attempt touch typing, and unlearning the bad habits was impossible. So I used to take the machines apart in class.
