You use your oven as a dryer again?

It wasn't even the dryer, it was the washing machine.

I did get interviewed by public safety and they took down my student ID, phone number, room number, and email.

With my current company, I've lit buildings on fire five times to the point where we needed fire department.

Process manufacturing startups can be interesting. On one example, the construction company didn't do a thermal wall penetration correctly. When we went to dial in the burnoff process, we lit the wall on fire shortly after we ramped up the burner.

Hopefully soon I will be able to actually set the washing machine on fire.

Putting bricks in the laundry is NOT a good idea apparently.

Takes me back to my dorm days. My roommate almost burned the place down playing with white gas. I was at the library. The fire dept. showed up as well as the police. Fun times! @spwath remember to separate the white/light colored clothes before washing. Proper laundry etiquette impresses women. :)

Separate? That doubles the amount of work. And I think women prefer me not taking up all of the machines on our floor (we had 3, but I just broke the one so..)

I had a roommate in college who once inadvertently washed his clothes in gasoline and then dried them without noticing. Luckily he didn't blow us up but it smelled something fierce.

How do you get gasoline mixed up with detergent?

Oh give yourself a few more months in college and you'll find out how gas and detergent can get mixed up. The separation of clothes shows you can help with housework. Women's number one complaint about their husbands. Trust me. Oh, and volunteer to help them fold their laundry.

Something is wrong here. Overloaded washing machine: washing machine should cut out. At worse, local fuse or breaker should blow, But... fire alarm?

Oh wait... Maybe... you have those smoke detectors that get set off by burnt toast?

Just thinking some more... you didn't install the washing machine the wrong way up in a very small space?

If they have detectors like the ones where I work, it could have been set off by an usually sulfurous flatulent emission.

No, the room literally filled with smoke before alarm went off. Never cut out, I turned it off.

@spwath My other roommate usually mowed the yard and he couldn't find a gas can one day so he ended up cleaning out an old detergent bottle and filling it with gas. He then wrote ALL OVER IT in marker "GAS: DO NOT USE" etc..

My roommate who washed his clothes with it was pretty brilliant actually with a degree in mathematics and he's also an ER surgeon now but he was kind of air-headed about practical day-to-day stuff.

Sounds like a defective washer. Were any of your clothes or a loved one smoked damaged? You may be entitled to compensation. Call 1-800-I-Stinks. Operators are standing by.

Oh, this sounds bad. Really, should not happen, even if you stuff the machine, you should only get a lousy wash.

Did you empty the pockets before filling the machine?
