porkers. My unicorn singlespeed was stolen Christmas Eve ‘98. I worked in a bike shop as a teenager and had amassed parts over the course of a year to build it. The frame was custom built out of Reynolds steel with a Bullseye rear hub and I had just got everything dialed in about a week before it was taken...
Cut their f'ing hands off. Well, maybe not, but I feel for you. If someone nicked my custom Ti singlespeed I'd be totally gutted. Hope you managed to replace it later in life @jowls.
Sorry to hear that Deep Funk and Jowls. A guy works hard for something and someone thinks it is a good thing to take it. It makes me angry to hear about that sort of thing.
I had a new bike double locked but it sill got stolen in less than a month so now I only buy older used bikes and keep them in a closed garage whenever i can :/
@pedalhead not yet. I have a cyclocross commuter but I have just moved into the wilderness so a MTB is on the cards. A lot has changed in 20 years though! Thinking about a 27.5+
Post pics in the bike thread when u get one :-). Which reminds me, I should post some of my Pivot Les. Apologies @Deep Funk, here we are prattling on about our bikes and you've just had yours nicked :-(. I suppose bike theft is rife in Amsterdam due to sheer numbers. Any confidence from police in finding it?
Sorry dudes that f'ing blows. I just put some fat-ish 2.2" thunder burts on a 650b Atlantis bike that's kind of a jack of all trades bike. It's no mountain bike but then i haven't done more technical stuff in a while. Maybe soon! I had a 29er before and I can see the appeal but man those wheels can be cumbersome and then my bike had toe overlap with this suckers
It was an older Decathlon Riverside, decent shape. Bought it used but with a few upgrades it would have been a real keeper. Next week I go bike hunting again...
