I thought it was pretty bad :-( . No spoilers, but I feel it's a bit of a betrayal of the original characters in service of the new ones, who are sadly way less engaging. Also too much in the way of modern vernacular put into the Star Wars universe. Star Wars for millennials imho. :-(

Interesting. Somewhat ironic that a large criticism of The Force Awakens is that there was too much fan service with the old characters.

Haven't seen it, but it's different times. I've lowered my expectations.

Hard to go lower than Lucas Jar-Jar-Stinks.

I thought it was pretty bad too. I don't care much about the characters, not that big of a fan. It's the disjointed, questionable direction that makes it a bad action/sci-fi movie to watch even just for kicks imo. Weird pacing, awkward jokes in serious scenes, etc. There are cool moments but it felt like they didn't come together as a whole. Hard to explain without spoiling, but yeah... Worse than TFA for me :(

Seems the Disney "empire" is off to a bad start.
