2016 Fall NY Mini meet - Nov 26

I am up for sharing an Uber from NYC. But I am otherwise thinking that the express bus will be the better option than the traiin. It may be quicker (or at least no slower) and I would feel more comfortable with expensive gear on the bus than that high up on the 5 line.

Not to say I have never had any issues with the 5 line because I have not.

 

You are partially right. Normally the 5 train in the Bronx is pretty shitty but hooncake's house is definitely in one of the best neighborhoods in the Bronx imo.

 

@Colgin If you wanna bus it, take Bxm10 from Madison and get off at Williamsbridge stop. My house is literally across the street, one min walk.

We need about 6 more chairs and if anyone who is driving and with not too much can gear bring one or two foldable chairs that would be great

 

No worries about the chairs, I have a lot of foldable ones I can bring from home.

Yeah, that was the bus I was planning to take.

 

Yeah, Morris Park is very nice but the 5 runs through some less than great stops. I would have zero qualms ordinarily but don't love the idea of taking that route encumbered with all sorts of gear, some of which isn't even mine.

 

Important Update, please read!!

95% chance we are moving the meet to @Josh's office located around W24th st & 6th ave. It is a much more ideal meet setting with 2 conference/meeting rooms, a 12x12 room with a couch, and a large lounge room which we could use for the larger speakers. I will be going to the office on Tuesday to check it out and to determine the best way we can set up.

There will be plenty of chairs and tables, so we won't have to worry about that. There will also be internet and power strips available for us to use.

As for parking, there is a paid parking garage across the street and another open parking area (I'm not sure if it's free or paid. Of course, it is possible to find alternate street parking as well. There are also various trains that you can take to get to the office. Please plan accordingly if you will be traveling with others.

@Kunlun maybe you can make stop by after work?

So for those driving in by car, I looked into our parking options. The best one (aside from alternate street parking) is ImPark @ 724 6th Avenue - Lot #46. It is $22 (Or $25/26 online..?) for 12hrs on weekends, which would be perfect for us.

Sadly, I may not make this meet. My boss changed my day off and seems unwilling to have someone else work in my place.

 

How much interest do we have for the OSMT? Should we bring a pair? I think these speakers have become the representative NY speaker xD

 

I went out earlier to check out our new meet location, and it is looking good! Big thanks to @Josh for having us at his office for our third NY SBAF meet! The address is 43 W 24th St. If you are not on the list, DO NOT SHOW UP. You will not be let into the building. If you want to join, or are on the list and want to invite someone, you must PM me first.

On the day of the meet, please give me a call when you get to the building and I will come down to let you in. I believe everyone should have my cellphone # already.

I checked out the parking situation and there are two ImPark garages. One pretty much right next to the building, and one across the street on the corner. $25 for 12 hours on Saturday. Nearest train stations are: A, C, E, 1, 2, 6, N, R with their respective 23rd st stations.

I will have to travel light due to knee issues,I may need help unloading gear.
I am thinking of bringing My Krell KSA-5 which has a loop out ,So if I can hook up to someone elses source that would be great.
