Foreword: The A3H Pro V2 is (as its name suggests) the update to AAW's A3H Pro. Priced at $380, it is a solid choice for an entry-level custom for those who want a relatively balanced sound with dynamic bass texturing.

Just in case, I'll disclaim that I got this unit complimentary from AAW. Not that it matters since this isn't really a full-blown review.

    Analysis
    • Channel matching is still within reason for a bespoke product. Pretty good but not excellent.
    • The overall sound signature of the A3Hv2 is slightly boosted bass with laid back and non-fatiguing treble. There is a nice diffuse-field bump followed by subdued treble that works wonders for those sensitive to sibilance.
    • D3 THD numbers are higher than the typical DD response but also lower than the typical BA response. It's no W900 but I can't say I expected the same performance.
    • As expected, the A3H remains stable with impedance changes. A very nice selling point of hybrids in general.
