    @Hands , Great job!

    This is perfectly supporting what @Cellist88 suggested in another thread.. Audeze must not discontinue vegan pads.

    I would probably entertain an LCD2C if I had Vegan pads.

    Do you guys think Eikon pads with suede would do the job as well? I'm ok with the LCD2C as is at the moment but I wonder if those could be a potential substitute.

    Those measurements and impressions make me regret selling off my vegan pads with my M1060. Thanks for updating us on what a good pad swap can do for LCD2C.

    I know a few months ago Audeze wasn't selling the vegan pads to retailers, but they were still selling them to Audeze customers that could provide proof of ownership (presumably to shut down the M1060 mods). Does anyone know if they are still doing that or if they completely stopped making the vegan pads?

    Someone said earlier in this thread or perhaps the other one that they stopped selling the suede vegan pads. Apparently they emailed customer support. The current leather-free pads are also technically "vegan" but aren't the ones that people are talking about.

    I think for Audeze House sound, the new leather-free pads most likely perform closer to their leather brethren.

    Its a thought.

    They might be a little hard to get on - Auteur pads are the right size, and are larger, but aren't angled nearly enough for comfort on the LCD - but it should be possible.

    Trouble is which one?

    I think we can exclude the perforated ones, but Lamb/Protein/Suede is already 210$ in pads to test them for measurement, not exactly a small amount.

    Two words: f**k Monoprice

    From what I've read, they will sell the Vegan pads if you provide the serial number of your Audeze headphone (because many people buys the stupid M1060 and puts the Vegan pads for a "cheap Audeze"). The iSine knock-offs won't help this situation either.

    At the beginning, those knock-offs look "beneficial" for the consumer but at the end, shit happens. I wish Audeze sues Monoprice accordingly and makes them go bankrupt, f**k that people.

    I mean, the blatant knockoff sucks, but I feel like I'd still want to sell the pads to anyone. Revenue is revenue...

    Thank you very much for your measurements with vegan pads - only you were able to finally convince me to order LCD2C. I do not have high hopes those could beat my beloved PMx2s but I should at least keep trying just like you keep challenging your HD650s :)

    To me, the PMx2 is not close to a fair comparison, but the price delta is significant. The PMx2 is much more cohesive and has correct tonality, the telarc 1812 sounded amazing. Amazing. The LCD2C by contrast is only $600 and fun as hell with party music.

    I kind of hope LCD2Cs with vegans could be complimentary to PMx2s, as a secondary headphone (instead of custom-modded HE500s). Planar-magnetic drivers? Check. Balanced signature with a bit elevated bass towards subbass? Seems so. A bit more HD650-like upper mids? Heres hoping.

    I'd argue the LCD-2C w/ vegan pads is more neutral than the PMx2. But the PMx2 is much smoother, more cohesive, less hashy and dirty, cleaner, etc.

    Another sample here thanks to @heyitsrobert. A third one will be incoming.

    OK. I hate to say it, but this one is "not as good" as the one that we have on the loaner. Hard to say because I cannot directly compare, but this one seems just a little bit duller and slower sounding. Still good though, but I'd take the loaner unit over this one any day.

    Can we get Massdrop to do a MicroSuede (Vegan) Pads drop?

    Good ol' Audeze variance? How many units have you heard/measured so far, these two?

    Here is the comparison between sample #2 and sample #1 from the miniDSP EARS (compensated)

    VIOLET = #1 LCD2C
    YELLOW = #2 LCD2C

    Just two. We have a third one incoming. The difference is small, but enough that I prefer one over the other.
