The Beef Roast is available at Schiit's site! Discuss! Had anyone heard the production version recently?

A few of us heard an early pre-production unit which had a few issues and bugs. I'm due to pick one up tomorrow. Will let you guys know.

A multibit DAC with all the bells and whistles (all previous Bifrost upgrades and more) for only $600? Holy Schiit, they are on fire!

PS: I'd still take a Yggdrasil... If and when the other half allows its purchase.

Good news! I didn't wait for this as I went for the Gungnir Multibit, but it should work well with people on a smaller budget than mine.

Yep, we're pretty thrilled with the Bifrost Multibit (and the 4490, which ain't bad). And yeah, if you've heard the previous protos, they had a "one sample off" phase difference per channel and an (ahem) *interesting* power supply oscillation problem on one of the voltage references which led to some non-harmonically-related idle tones. The ones we're shipping now are solid (the benefit of beating on these prototypes for months.)

And of course, all existing Bifrosts can be upgraded. The only downside is, like Gungnir, the motherboard needs reprogramming to do the upgrade, so it has to come back to us (or to a service center, currently only in Europe, but we're at least working on Australia.

    Enjoy!

Any chance a Singapore one is coming soon?

If rental is too expensive, you can always try Malaysia, its close to Singapore, with the USD tso high compared to the RM, setting up cost etc is pretty low and labor is pretty cheap as well. I can help you guys out if you're interested.

Thanks for the info, Jason.. Will there be a few black Bifrost Multibit's available (B-stock or new) like there were/are Gumbys?

Sounds great, Marv.. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it. I'd appreciate impressions of it paired with the Valhalla 2, as well.. if you have one available.

Actually just one question. So the current multibit bifrost comes with the following past upgrades or are the upgrades separate:

    USB Gen 2
    Analog Uber Upgrade
    Multibit

    Thanks for confirming.

Great job! This kind of commitment to your products is the reason I sold off my used Gungnir and ordered a new black Gungnir Multibit.

Consumers should take more notice of this kind of activity than they do.

Anyone else notice that the new bifrost boards (both Multibit and SD) are different? I wonder if there were any improvements made.

Hmm will schiit ever allow self upgrades for the multibit upgrades, if you have a RJ12 connector? If its the software being a trade secret, i can understand why you would not want it out.

Dang, I'm so excited about this I just placed my order. It will be here tomorrow. However, I paid dearly in shipping for the overnight arrival.
