Looking forward to seeing you, Mike.

Trade show comes at a perfect time for me. Need to check out UERR (I'm a f'ing moron, and left my UERM on an airplane on Friday). Also very interested in hearing Audez'e Sine vs. PM-3, as I need something for the office.

Bring music that you are familiar with. This allows you to assess gear consistently across the board.

I always cringe when I see people at the meets listen to one system with X (good recording) and pronounce awesomeness, and then go to another system with Y (bad recording) and pronounce un-awesomeness. Things are made worse because the same songs can be from different masters, in some case, very different sounding masters. It pays to know your music, your recordings, and what masters they came from.

Ethan got back to us today and there will definitely be a member showcase room. Right now I think there are 3 of us signed up and there's room for 6-7 tables total. If anybody is interested in bringing a rig, PM third_eye on HF. I'll be there both days, see you guys there!

It has been brought to my attention that due to a few people dropping out of the member showcase that the showcase unless filled will potentially be cancelled. This is very disheartening for some of us as there were people from SBAF specifically @n3rdling looking forward to bringing the clones and letting members listen to them at CanJam.

If you can make both days and would like to set up a member booth no matter how small please PM third_eye on HF ASAP. This honestly is sad as I have never heard of something being cancelled due to lack of participation but I guess the way these shows are run it's important to fill rooms.

If you know someone or someone is thinking of being able to showcase gear please show your support for our member and help us fill the tables.

I can maybe showcase, but I can't kill my weekend manning the table. Some sort of vinyl based rig...
I like hanging around you guys without worrying about taking care of gear.

If we REALLY REALLY need a setup, I'll do it. I wasn't even planning on going to CanJam actually....show conditions are the worst way to hear gear! If I would go, it would have been to hang with you guys.

EDIT: Re reading my post, I'm such a party pooper!

Tempted to bring a vinyl rig and hazardous glow tubes, but a two day commitment is too much. Besides, I'd rather just hang out. Getting tired of hauling hundreds of pounds of gear.

Can't we just rent out a room there for ourselves and have a SuperBAF supplementary meet next door?

I want to see people, listen to some member rigs and maybe hear some new products, but I'm not sure it's worth flying/driving down for this.

Lugging stuff to a meet takes a lot out of you. I'd rather have a member focused meet.

That venue, the Westin in OC, is a clusterfuck. Small overcramped badly shaped long rooms. Horrible listening environments. Let's save our energy to plan a BIG meet for HOBBYISTS in a more accesible location either this summer or next winter. San Jose Convention Center or Hilton LAX. We've got backers for this - a lot of people want to see this happen. :) Vendors of course are welcome, but maybe some rules: 1) one table, bring your best shit; 2) no backdrops or advertising banners.

Ethan (third_eye) has responded to my PM saying there will be no member room. I'd still like to go at least 1 of the days to see everyone. Who won't be there Saturday? Can we all plan around a Saturday dinner?

Are you inviting us all on a date? If so, will there be an orgy afterwards and are you paying for food?

Let's move this idea to the secret planning area. The key to success to make sure there aren't seventeen other meets / tradeshows going on around the same time - and HF's been going at the tradeshows at a breakneck pace in California the past few years. I envision a 100% free event, for the hobbyists and by the hobbyists.

Damn it, one of these years I'm going to get my boss to send me to the San Diego office in time for one of these epic SoCal meets. I really need to pay more attention to when these are happening.

Need to get a head count for food on Saturday if we are going to be doing an SBAF dinner. If you are interested please let me know.
