Picked up a few good oldies this weekend, among some other stuff that isn't as interesting.

Played this today. One of the albums sitting around since I bought it back in the early 80s.

Got 3 records in this weekend. 1) The Nils Frahm record, Tag Eins Tag Zwei that I mentioned in the work music thread. Has a fabric record cover. 2) A stark white copy of Moon Shaped Pool (I love how it looks, picture below.), and 3) An original copy of Kind of Blue. Noisy as f**k. Still don't have a record cleaning solution worked out so playing that will have to wait. Any opinions on whether the original is worth it or should I just buy a new version and sell this one?

@sphinxvc The MFSL version of Kind of Blue is incredible. I've never heard the original pressing, but the MFSL version is the best I've heard Kind of Blue.

Ive got a couple versions, and the MFSL is easily the best and easiest to find, but has a boosted low end for some reason. Sounds natural, but everything is just a hair boomier than normal.

Funny you should post that. I just got that album in a ~30 album craigslist haul yesterday, I knew almost nothing about him or the album. It was one of the first ones I spun today, because of your post. Two times through I really liked it, and went to TIDAL to listen to more, and checked Wikipedia to read more. I encountered disappointing news...

I discovered Jeff Buckley thru the 2006 French film, Tell No One. They played Lilac Wine in one of the scenes and, not having Shazam back then on my phone, I memorized a snippet of the lyrics to Google later. Such a great album.

Excellent choice. This is one my favorite albums of all time. I never tire of it. And every time I hear it I'm mad that he's dead. Check out the Live at Sin-é concert. Only available digitally, but wow. He does a cover of Strange Fruit that you'd never expect from a white boy.

Nils Frahm is great. I'd also recommend checking out Olafur, Johan Johnanson and Max Richter if this music is making you happy.
