    AP re-issue arrived the other day.

    Comp album of Jazz artists recorded on live TV in 1958. Sound hovers around 9-10 and performances go from about 7-10 but man when it hits 10/10 (most of side A esp the Billie Holiday track) it REALLY knocks it out of the park as in "Holy shit I don't believe this was recorded in 1958..."

    Two big thumbs up. One of the best records I have heard this year.

    Cart is Zyx Omega Premium (copper coils)
    Phono is Trulife Argo Reference
    Cables are all Mogami 2549 with Neutrik ProFi
    ADC is TASCAM DA3000 recorded DSD 128 and then converted/post processed at 24/192 with export at 24/96.

    Movie is a still image with the 24/96 audio attached. Youtube converted it to AAC from the looks of the “stats for nerds” on the video.

    I really like how on this recording you can hear not only musicians moving relative to the mics but also at least once the mic moves relative to the musicians.

    On either end are the two records I got in the holiday vinyl exchange: Wildflowers by The Avalanches and Portishead Roseland NYC Live. In the middle is the rear spine of the complete Riverside recordings of Bill Evans on 45 from AP.
