Comparing the new "improved dynamics" remaster of PT's Deadwing to my digital version and the new vinyl release is a huge improvement. I've listened to this album so many times over the years, I'm getting a bit misty hearing it sound so good. Well played Steven Wilson!

 

Oh yeah, that came in on Tuesday.

 

Edit: I had to turn up the volume on this one compared to other records I have. Mssr. Wilson wasn't kidding about a lower volume master.

 

Picked up Peter Horsfall - Nighthawks last week. Really nice easy listening Jazz album; can grab it off Bandcamp or Amazon.

It gave me the chance to do a needledrop comparo with a video Fremer posted a while back of the soon to be relaunched Technics SP10 (20K USD with plinth/arm).

I got both - Deadwing and In Absentia in the mail yesterday and my god - I have never enjoyed my audio rig this much! Perhaps it was enhanced by the fact that SBAF was closed so I could really enjoy what I have, but I can confirm that the improvements on this remaster were definitely immediately noticeable.

 

That table is a real looker. Have you shared more about it (including the lighting) anywhere?
