    Lost money via a scam I'd rather not discuss here. I'm having trouble selling some other stuff to make up for it, so I'm officially listing this right now.

    Short version is I need to purge a lot of gear for now. Depending on what sells, some of it will no longer be for sale.

    This is the lovely MHDT Labs Orchid. This is the best DAC that MHDT makes, in my opinion. I further upgraded it myself with the following improvements:
    • DAC chip was changed to a 1998 Taiwan TDA1541A--this is the best chip to use according to the TDA1541 expert who built the Audial Model S. They're exceedingly rare.
    • Output capacitors changed to Jantzen Superior-Z
    • Power caps changed to NOS Epcos sikorel caps from Rubycon
    • The RCA (but not BNC) input was changed to Murata DA101C (very slightly different sound from the BNC in now)
    • Fuse swapped to 1A 250V slow blow audio grade
    • Tube changed to rare 6n26p/6H26n
    Looking for $1050 shipped. Parts costs was a little south of $200 for the upgrades, labor was done by me.

    Friends/Contributors save $20.
