What silly and unhelpful thing to say. Maybe back to Headfi if reading criticism offends you? All points have been valid. Unlike yourself at least people have the balls to speak up and want to see a good product and not just another in-the-mix headphone. If actually wished him well and offered my opinion.

Let's please keep this about the product. I've read through the thread and there's a whole lot of garbage accusations for no good reason and weird forceful suggestions with no foundation whatsoever. Klipsch will share or not share a prototype whenever they please, they're not beholden to us or what people here want or don't want, nor are we shareholders, and there's no use discussing what it should or shouldn't sound like until someone hears it. @Ryanr1987 take a step away from your keyboard and chill out amigo. I find your lack of faith disturbing. No more personal attacks please. The fact that @musiqlovr didn't accept a very blanket statement about all klipsch iems sounding like bass cannons doesn't at all mean that they don't respond to criticism or constructive feedback. The statement wasn't a useful or intelligent critique of a product but rather a gross overgeneralization. I have no idea who took a shit in your cereal but cool your jets or we'll cool them for you. Same goes for others making weird demands or innuendos without foundation. Again, we will either hear a prototype at a meet or have one sent to us or we will not. Regardless anyone interested can hear them when they are released.

Jesus I only said I felt they missed an opportunity lol and said what I saw. Telling someone to cool down then acting like you've just benched 500lbs conflicts a bit. You're making a bigger deal out of this than it is and making a scene over something minor could be left to PM instead of trying to make yourself look like Mr Olympia threatening to cool someones jets..

I'll leave it at that, PM me if you have issue.

    Cheers.

I think this has more to do with your behavior and attitude than it is about your intention, man. For instance:

You're being quite judgmental here. It's one thing to say "it's a missed opportunity", and it's another to say "he doesn't respond well to criticism." Honestly, how the Klipsch's representative conducts himself is really not anyone's business, and much less something to be judged.

I mean... I get it, you really care, and you're trying to tell them "hey, go out and meet these guys in person and take them seriously", which I truly appreciate, but the tone of your posts are a bit condescending and rude to me. Please do realize that not everyone in here is a teenager. Most of the regular folks are actually very old, and wise.

If you do realize that this place is not the same as Head-fi or Reddit, then please do consider how you are speaking to people, unless you are close friends with them. But even then, we rarely speak to one another in the tone that you are using.

    Thanks to those that responded...

I appreciate those that understood my response to the bass cannon remark.

I absolutely respond well to criticism...but I felt that was a baseless comment that had no truth.

I grew up in South Philly and have thick skin, but tone and attitude where rife in those remarks and I felt they were uninitiated...thats why you got the response from me that you did.

If you follow both this thread and the one on another HP forum, you will see we took criticism and made changes to the product based on that criticism, fundamental changes. We widened and thickened the headband, changed connectors and much more...some of these things we didn't necessarily want to do but are trusting the users (all of you).

What I will say is, if you challenge me on something that has no merit, I'll call you on that shit. I've worked too hard and been in this industry for too long to deal with nonsense.

From the beginning of this product, we sat and thought, wouldn't it be cool to show people who are crazy passionate about the project, what goes into building a world class pair of Headphones. This was our mission, and I stand behind the fact that we feel like so far we have been achieving that mission. We have shared who the factory was from the very beginning, no hiding, let you look "under the hood" when we were in pre alpha stage...thats not something many companies do (I have worked at: Denon, McIntosh, Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio-twice lol, JVC, Panasonic and more)

I should have a pair of BETA samples out to Marv by the end of this week.

I can't wait for his response and we are prepared for whatever comes from it, as long as everyone remembers this first pair will be from our first BETA run. The purpose of Alpha, Beta, MP is to refine the product through every stage, find issues, or improvements and keep refining...

Re read all your posts, if you can't see why I took offense...I'm reminded of a saying:

You just can't put in what the good lord left out

You have basically told me in no uncertain terms that I'm a baby, then you attempted to banish me to Headfi...pretty sure that offends not just me but the users of that site too. Your tone and attitude have been shit. I'm clearly not the only one to notice it...and then you attack the people who call you out on being harsh and having attitude...

Now you're acting like a child. My post wasn't even to you so what are you talking about? When did I banish you to headfi? Seriously what are you talking about?

Roid rage? Grow up you're representing a company, act like it.

The only thing I've said to you is that I felt you had an opportunity and that you reacted badly to a comment...does that sound like something you should be having a fit over? It's the internet not everyone is going to agree with you, get over it and be mature about it. Repressent your company in a professional manner.

I'm glad you've got samples out to Marvey, good move and I wish your company all the best. I'm very disappointed in the way you've handled yourself in your last reply. I look forward to his impressions.

Sounds fair. I certainly don't mean it as it sounds to you but online we all read replys with a different tone in our head whether it was meant that way or not. I'll try to word my post better, some of the post here were light hearted and could of easily come across as rude.

I don't know abot anyone else but I'm really hoping for TH900 bass, that thunder and bass cleanliness combination. With better mids and smoother treble. I've always found Biocellulose driver's to gloss over those micro details compared to comparable quality Mylar or the newer TPE drivers from Zack or other materials but there's something so rich about Bio drivers.

Has there been an open back headphone using biocellulose drivers? I really liked the Eikon but there's too much resonance from the cups, which softens the sound of acoustic instruments. They're also very large and heavy. If an open cup alleviates these issues that would be nice.

Mods aside, the only one to my knowledge is an upcoming can from Fostex, which I believe was brought up in the X00 thread (found it: http://superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/fostex-x-massdrop-th-x00.628/page-37#post-152559) and the AudioQuest NightHawk (which might even just be semi-open).

The Nighthawk is semi open (like the Klipsch) but I don't think there has been a fully open headphone with bio drivers, which I do find very odd but I guess that makes sense since both Fostex and Sony focus mainly on closed headphones.

Sony MDR-CD2000 was basically semi open, lot's of small holes but thick foam behind the drivers in the ceramic cups. Popular with some expert recording engineers here in Sweden. I transplanted Sony biocellulose drivers in a MDR-F1, results were not encouraging, or needing more time and effort than my patience was willing to contribute.

The Fostex bio's all have very satisfying bass, even the tonally wonky Nighthawk has an impressive amount of sub bass extension. I'm not expecting TH900 levels of bass slam but since the Fostex bio driver is a known quantity, I have some faith that the bass will at least be satisfying. I'm not sure if I agree on the micro detail comment though. My time with the Eikon has never left me wanting for more detail and the tonality is spot on. I agree though, there is an inherent pleasantness that most bio drivers seem to possess. I even managed to enjoy my demo with the Nighthawk (once my ears adjusted) despite its brutally recessed midrange.

@musiqlovr - I'm hopeful this headphone is a success for Klipsch, and yea, products go through alpha, and beta phases. All normal.

I'm from the era that remembers Klipsch horn speakers, and enjoyed them (and still own a pair of the heritage KLF-20s). Keep in mind amps didn't pour out the mega-watt power they do today, so efficient speakers was a thing. The company really does have a heritage. I'm even more hopeful these go back to your grass roots in terms of sound ;)

I've always enjoyed the Nighthawk, the mids have really only bothered me when I switch to something more competent in that area like the HD650/Atticus or Eikon. I stopped comparing headphones recently and just enjoyed them in the moment more than worrying what they're missing.

The best and cheapest tweak there is.
