Heard a couple of times, really liked it. Dropping March 1st. Looks like it's the same size as the Cavalli tube amp... new amp stack?

Love the triple gain selector, and any amp with an XLR-4 out gets my approval.

Balanced or convenience, I'd much rather use that connector.

One thing it definitely has over the Schiit offerings: you don't have to be lucky to get it in black. Doubly true for us in iurop.

Hopefully a trusted ear can compare it to the Jot.

Edit: jeez a full 6w into 32ohm from the balanced tap.

It's super clean and not anemic like the O2. I do like the stack they posted with the cavalli amp, damn it.

Looks just like the MD Liquid Carbon X. Priced nearly the same.

I have been looking for a big balled but moderately priced SS for PMx2 and this could be a good candidate. The term ‘wire with gain’ always concerns me a little though.

Skeptical, but more so intrigued. Mostly because MD's batting average has been pretty good with their audio collabs thus far. In fact, do any complete *duds* come to mind? I suspect there's gotta be at least one... ha.

Side note: seems like one of the best side-effects that Schiit has had on competing new gear is relatively decent pricing. Even mid-fi Schiit haters have to appreciate that. Because without amps like the Jot in place I imagine the pricing on something like this (with THX booty woff all over it) would've started much higher.

Except none of the senior members have heard this one. Count me too as skeptical.

The AHB2 seems to be hit or miss among the regulars here, but it's one of my favourites and if this is the trickle down tech then I am greatly intrigued. Sadly, cross border importing and fees gives me conniptions.

Now to give it a head-to-head vs the Neurochrome HP-1... @tomchr

    It's all implementation. AAA, THX, R2R, PG13, NC17, etc. doesn't mean much.

Marvey: You told us not to buy a new amp until March as something new and killer is coming out. From your comment above, I see this isn't the new amp you were talking about?

None of the senior members have heard it yet. This is a wait and see amp. It might be the second coming or it might be pretty good or it might be meh. Hard to tell until I've heard it.

Very curious about why there wasn't a unit passed around to get some impressions.. I'm super intrigued by this and applaud massdrop for the line of affordable high-value amps they've been creating but limited availability coupled with almost no impressions make it a scary buy.

You must have missed about how well it measures. That's all you need. "It's designed for objectivist.." so no subjective reviews needed. Unless they are double blind and volume matched impressions.
