I've never considered Modi Multibit warm or at least not warm enough to color a good pair of headphones. I imagine that Modi Multibit + Atticus + Jotunheim would be very pleasing in terms of sound quality. If it was me I would probably spend the extra for a Bifrost Multibit just because it's upgradeable (and their are rumors of an upgrade for Bifrost Multibit in the works already) and would stack perfectly with the Jotunheim being in the same size chassis.

Lynx e22, singxer su1 or mutec mc3+ as best transport for schiit mutlibit dacs?

I do not consider the Atticus to be warm sounding. Mid-bassy, punchy, yes. Warm no. There is actually a very slight upper bass / lower mid depression.

The Modi Multibit is warm on the spectrum of DACS. Modi Multibit synergies well with the drier and forward sounding Jotunheim. This combination works well with Atticus. This setup is one I used for my Atticus review.

Ymmv but in terms of the singxer I actually found it as a downgrade from the Gungnir Multibit usb gen 2 (was connected via bnc) . Chifi garbage imo, muddied the sound if anything

It's all over the place for USB converters. Very much YMMV. For example, I didn't care for the Mutec and preferred the dedicated USB 2.0 bus on my VAIO laptop with Gungnir Multibit.

I believe there are two grades of the Zinger USB thing.

The SU-1 is useful as a way to get multiple output connections on different connections (in sync/parallel), but unless I needed that, or wanted a reasonable way to get an I2S output, it would not be my first choice for anything else.

With Yggdrasil and Gungnir, as long as your source is not lighting up the clock-mode LED (aka "buy better gear light"), all you might need to be concerned about is maintaining electrical isolation. And that's more dependent on how noisy your source is than anything else.

This. I was pretty shocked when I switched back to the Gungnir Multibit gen 2 after a couple weeks use of the singxer. There just seemed to be slightly more clarity, the singxer added a slight haze to everything for me.

Patiently waiting for the shit eitr to come out will be buying day one to test it out.

For anyone interested my chain is:

    USB gen2> Gungnir Multibit> freya> Genelec 8030b
    >jot>hd800s

No rumors about new DACs at this time.

I'd buy the DAC you're after first and worry about what interface to use once you have some time in with it.

With what's been hinted at with Eitr, patience here is likely to be rewarded.

I mean whichever DAC it is that you want most.

If you buy the Mosaic UV you're going to be forced to use USB. Which, if all the waffle about how its USB input is implemented is justified then it may not need anything else in the chain. But even if you go with Yggdrasil, I'd just use it as it comes and not worry about other interfaces right now. Unless you have a desire to run it over your network etc. in which case I'm an Aries fan via AES/EBU XLR.

Modi Multibit is far too veiled for an Atticus to my preferences.
