Yet another audio show. This one in June then THE show in September. Show saturation?

September 22, 2016 - The LAAS – Los Angeles Audio Show – is a new high-end audio and home theater show debuting in June 2017 and every weekend each year following Memorial Day. The LAAS is presented in collaboration with the Los Angeles and Orange County Audio Society at the Sheraton Gateway LA with complimentary shuttle service from the Los Angeles International Airport. The LAAS is funded and managed by The Orion Group, a private investment firm.

THE Show Newport is usually in June. It is no longer being held. Since Richard Beers (the owner of the show) died , I think no one wanted to continue it.

The LA Audio Show has essentially replaced it.

Noticed that too last night. No idea where this leaves RMAF now, since that's usually held early October.

I update the OP with a list of shows I can think of. Anymore USA based audio shows?

Maybe we need to go back to audio storefronts.

I will be there. Come by booth #126 in the HeadGear room. (Ground floor, grand ballroom.)

We will have our usual show specials. And our online show specials for people who can't make it by our booth.

We will also have out ESP-950 to Stax cables in stock and the Vesper ESP-950 pads available for sale at the show.

I hope to see you there!

Someone compare the Stax to the Sonoma, if it's not too noisy. They are like 5 tables apart.

My booth is right next to Sonoma, but I won't have a chance to do any lengthy comparisons. I am also guessing that the huge room we're in is going to be pretty noisy.

But I will have a pair of Stax 009's at my booth if anyone wants to compare with the Sonoma. I don't have a Blue Hawaii or anything, so I am not sure how good the comparison would be.

Had to leave a little early and it's my first time going to a 2ch convention, but I'm pleasantly surprised that my current setup is not missing much from the kilo-buck speaker rigs featured during the show. Nice saying hi to @Out Of Your Head again.

It's only Friday. I expect the Saturday crowd to be much larger.

Eh probably go to Bimmerfest instead.

It was a decent crowd, most people were on floors two and three testing out speakers rather than headphones.

@sfoclt i had 2 hours today. I also enjoyed the Zesto room and conversing with George. That newer phono amp is amazingly quiet for a tubed phono stage. Much quieter than the Andros.

I gotta say, though, the Pranafidelity (new to me) room was impressive. What a natural and soulful sound. Those speakers made their way on to my shortlist. Interesting was that there are two toggle switches on the rear of the cabinets. One is used for switching in and out different components in the RC network as desired ... carbon film, ceramic, or wirewound resistors. The other is for adjusting the knee of the treble rolloff curve as desired.

If you are going tomorrow, check out the suite and ask him to play the Fiona Apple track off the Songs of Cy Coleman record. Loved it.

I did think the attendance was low, even for a Friday, lowest Ive seen since i can remember. There are a lot of signs that this is not T.H.E. Newport Show related, notably the absence of the icky Lyn Stanley on the bill. Everying just plays a little smaller. Less vinyl vendors ( though the ones there were the usual stellar suspects Acoustic Sounds, Elusive disc, etc.), smaller rooms, etc. Elevators were few and slow, small crowds notwithstanding. The sound leakage between rooms weere pretty bad in the ones i went into. Parking was $13.99 or something. This is not a good place for an audio show. The big band last night was great, but it was an open area by the pool, unlike the tented closed spaces in T.H.E. Newport Show and the acoustics were baaaad, the weather was overcast, windy, and very slightly drizzly.

Zesto has cover stories on both Stereophile July and TAS which tells you something. Thst and they have good People, but that makes their rooms a must listen to. I was in The EAR room Dan Meirwald was manning, and that sounded superb as well.
