Hey NY SBAF folks, fairly new around here, haven't posted until this week. I've been reading these forums for about 8 months or so, mostly Torq's excellent DAC reviews. I live in midtown Manhattan, my main set up is a pair of monitors using ribbons and focal kevlar mids in an MTM configuration, tube integrated amp (6sn7, 6550/kt88) and the NAD M51 DAC. Also have a set of AKG 701s for after my better half goes to bed. I'm looking to try out an R2R dac to potentially replace my M51, specifically been looking at the Yggdrasil gen 5 usb, the Holo Spring, and the Metrum Menuet. Would love to hear these somewhere in NYC if anyone is around. Will bring pizza and beer! I've owned a PS audio digital link 3, a cary pre-amp/headphone amp, and I grew up building speakers with my dad on the weekends as a hobby, so I guess I've been into hifi since then. We had a pair of huge klipsch Kornerhorns in the basement, great for parties... Anyway, my apartment isn't huge, but I'd be happy to host some folks at an informal meet up with some drinks/grub. I know this place has a very established culture, and as a newbie, if I'm doing anything wrong, please forgive me ignorance, and let me know so I can stop! Thanks

 

Anyone going to New York Audio Show on the weekend on 11/10?

 

I'm thinking about it. I want to hear the pureaudioproject open baffle speakers.

 

Iwant to hear those voxativs and see if itll be a future purchase

 

Is Voxativ going to be there? Last I checked, they were not listed as an exhibitor.

 

Perhaps the reference was to the Voxativ drivers available in the pureaudioproject OB speakers now?

 

I expect to be there, but not sure what day yet.

I'm more than disappointed that they nixed the dedicated headphone section, but there's still plenty there to drool over.
