I'm currently in NJ so I could make it, if that's still possible.

I didn't really take much with me overseas, other than my modded HD800 and UERM (and B2 without tips) and my GO450/UHA6SMK2 stack to drive them. I don't even have any CDs but I could use my phone as a transport. In any case I think it should be no problem to bring my stuff on public transport.

    Okay.

I just spread-eagled my wallet and picked up a First Watt J2. Paid extra to have it arrive on Friday so we can have it at the meet. @Josh, looks like I'll need that ride after all? You guys are going to like this.

@Dr. Higgs, any way you can bring your LS50s?

Another thing, I've been lazy and haven't put my Space Deck on Audiogon yet. So, if anyone wants to buy it at the meet and spare my the hassle and expense of shipping, I'll knock it down to $1,100. With the J2 in, I'll also be selling my new Odyssey Stratos Plus (in Khartago case) for $500. I'm not bringing either of these things if no one is interested though, so you can PM me if you are.

I know I have a couple responses due to some of you guys, so sorry for the late replies. Been in a different city/country every week for the past month for work.

LS50s should be no prob, the only thing I'm worried about transporting is my turntable if necessary.

Awesome, I'm excited to hear the LS50 personally. I've been browsing speaker stuff lately and have been wanting to hear them for a while.

Okay if there's gonna be a LS50 at the meet, I'll bring my overnight sensations. I don't want to miss out on the chance to compare them and to try out higher end amps with my speakers too. @sphinxvc I'm definitely interested in your Stratos but I'm concerned with how much heat it outputs. Is it going to raise the temperature of my room by 3 degrees? xD. What does the Plus model have over the regular (in terms of SQ I guess?) and why in the Khartago case?

If we're doing speakers at the meet, lets save them for the end of the meet. We can pack up our headphone stuff and then set up the speakers. That sound good to you guys?

@Serious I'm sure it'll be okay, but let's confirm with @SteelCannon first. Meet starts 12pm.
@Dr. Higgs Glad to hear you're still on board!

Sounds good to me to wait till later... actually, I might not bring my Bifrost MB in that case. Once the headphone stuff is done, we can use one of your DACs. We'll need speaker cable, can someone bring? I'll bring my Sys in case we use a DAC with no pre.

@thegunner100 - the Khartago case because it was cheaper. Klaus of Odyssey claims it's the same otherwise.

Temperature, it feels like my hand is on a warm, not hot, cup of tea in a thin porcelian mug. Why that analogy comes to mind, I don't know. I've been sick recently, maybe that's why.

I tried to take my meat thermometer to the case, but it didn't even register against the ambient air temperature.

By the way, the J2 will be a different story if my experience with the F3 means anything, you couldn't really keep your hands on that case.

On plus vs. regular, I've owned the plus twice but never heard the regular, so no thoughts on subjective difference, but I know the amount of capacitance is higher in the plus - more balls, I guess.

By the way, I can bring my DAC if someone is ballsy enough to try their headphones with the J2. Does anyone have pig tails? And balanced HD650 cable? I'm definitely ballsy enough to try my HD650s with pig tails off 25wpc. :D

    Planars should be totally safe.

@sphinxvc I'll bring my garden hose (ahem... I mean speaker cables), 4-pin XLR to banana plugs and my balanced hd650 cable. I've plugged my hd650s into my virtue one.3 before, it's totally safe. We could probably just use my Yggdrasil cause it'll be nice and warmed up by the end. Yes, do bring your sys unless you'd rather use valhalla 2 or something as the pre-amp lol.

Hmm... I'm kind of tempted but at the same time, I COULD just wait for schiit's stuff. If you can bring it, that would be great (even better if I can borrow it and then send it off to whoever's buying it). But if not, then that's okay cause 55lb probably isn't fun to lift.

I have a spool of speaker wire, if we need extra. I'll bring it if anyone thinks we need it.

As long as @Josh is okay with me bringing two large power amps in his car, I don't mind.

Can anyone bring stands? @thegunner100 stands work for the ls50s and overnight sensations, but my jbl 530s are a little too big.

Also, if anyone has an extra laptop that can be used to stream tidal/spotify that would help a lot.

I'm sure we'll be okay without stands, in fact, those JBLs look like a great height to put LS50s on top of. :)

When did you get them, @SteelCannon? How are they and congrats. Oh, and if you still have those Mordaunt Shorts, they would make good stands too.

We'll just need two guys to stand at the first reflection points and absorb sound. :p

@sphinxvc I ended up listening to the mordaunt shorts a lot and wanted to try other speakers(I still have and use the shorts). I purchased the jbl 530s heavily discounted ($300) recently and have been enjoying them for near field use. I'm not sure how well my marantz receiver powers them, but it does a damn good job of heating my room.

Haha, nice. Looking forward to hearing them.

By the way, @Kunlun. You're attending this, right? I should have held out on those EX1000s so you would have a reason to come.

Ha, I've silently cheering everyone on. I've been applying Marvey's advice on dating Chinese women, arm-wrestling them and their family members and various grandpas left and right to pay for dinner...
