I was just researching those Devore speakers last night, how coincidental! What are your impressions? What else have you had in there to compare to?

These arrived three days ago, hence I have nothing to say about them yet. Basically I've heard every product reviewed at hifiknights site as the journalist who writes there shares an office with me. You'll find some speakers there.

I'm breaking in my new Pranafidelity Bhavas and moving these broadband panels around. Any advice for killing the low-end boominess in the left corner? The 4 incher helps, but I'm afraid I'll need something else to help trap the bass.

Not something I usually recommend, but doesn't hurt to try. Have you ever tried to seal bass ports and thus make the speakers working in the closed chassis? It usually reduces boominess, yet at the cost of lows amount. Just a food for thought.

I was just emailing Steven @ Pranafidelity about it and he's about to ship me a shorter port to try as well as some foam for the longer stock port to compare. He seems to really care about how his speakers are being enjoyed.

    Nice nearfield setup.

If the panels are just standard fiberglass filled, they will not tame the low end. A good basstrap is what is needed or move seating position in or out to find room peak and move out of it if you can. Try throwing a bunch of blankets or jeans balled up behind that panel to get an idea of whether a trap will work.

I can't really move around as just out of frame is my bed. Thanks for the suggestion about blankets behind the panel. I'll try it!

If it fits you can try another panel on top of the one in the corner so the full corner is covered from floor to ceiling. Right now you lose some effectiveness, but as is said above trying to make it a sort of superchunk by stuffing the empty area behind might also work.

Another thing, how far are your speakers from the wall? Have you tried moving them as close as possible?
It's possible you have some sbir problems causing the boomy low end, by moving them closer you can move that frequency up where your treatment is more effective.

Here is some great info if you haven't read it already:http://arqen.com/acoustics-101/room-setup-speaker-placement/

There's an inch or two of extra space for the wires/banana plugs. I can try moving it that last bit.

I've seen that link before but forgot where it was. Thanks for the help!

OK. Expecting to see much more next time!

My first thought was "That's more my kind of room!" Very nice. Looking away from the mess towards the speakers... Very, very nice!

Packing blankets behind the corner broadband panel have helped a lot, and it was a stealthy fix! Thanks all for the suggestions.

You're welcome. Thick and moving fabrics tend to work with bass nicely. Not all and not each and every time, but before obtaining proper diffusers, I used blankets too.

Added a preamp that I've had on the lookout for awhile. Originally thinking something custom but at the price I saw this at I couldn't pass it up and won't lose anything if I move on later. So far I don't like the tubes as they can get a bit shrilly with some records in my setup so I've ordered some Mullards to tame things and build up the midrange. Should be here whenever Andy at Vintage Audio finishes testing everything. No idea what the rebranded stock tubes are but I don't like them. New rectifiers and 12AU7s on the way.

Absolutely dead quiet and fantastic build quality - oddly more quiet (like dead silent right up to the woofer) vs. using XLRs from DirectStream to XA30.5 - everything are 1m rca interconnects now. I had a Jolida tube integrated before with KT88s where the tubes would get very hot despite being accurately biased but these are almost just warm to touch. Almost...Wish the frontplate was silver but for the price and seller's rep there are no complaints on this end.
