Hmmmkay...the blog on the Volumio site has a little review. In it there is a link to the experimental image and a couple of good reasons to just wait a little bit longer(for me).

Finally! The 502DAC is back in stock. We have a small number right now (~15) and will keep adding a dozen or so per week over the next few weeks. Tell all your friends. Well, not too many! ;)

    Cheers,
    Michael

@Michael Kelly Good news! I'm glad that you got the missing parts :)

However, I missed those 15 units. Can I make a pre-order (and pay in advance maybe)? I'd very like to achieve this thing as my birthday present :)

We are going to continue building. We'll have another batch next week. And the week after, etc up to the full 100 we've got the parts for.

    Cheers,
    Michael

So the first 15v sold out, but we are actually finishing 24 so we figure we will actually get 22 or so after test. As we said before, we'll continue to build them as long as we have parts. And demand of course!

BTW, the cases are also in stock. Iif you already ordered a unit and we have not yet shipped it, you can order the case using coupon code "CASE" and we'll waive the case shipping charge.

    Cheers,
    Michael

That's great! Looking forward to buy a 2nd unit.
I will contact you to enquire about a design for a new board, maybe it could be interesting for you to work on it ;)

Did you manage to resolve you issue? I'm also having intermittent issues with 502 dac pro soundcard detection. Are you powering it separately from the pi? Only by shutting down the pi and recycling the power for dac will fix it for me. Even a reboot will show up as no soundcard detected when I do an aplay -l

How about this for a 502 dac + isolatorpi board case?

Has a nice flip top lid for easy access. Grab a penknife and get creative.

If anyone is still looking to purchase a 502DAC we have 9 units left for pre-order out of the next batch of 25 units being built. Lead time is roughly 3 weeks, but we are trying to pull that in a bit. They are going fast, so grab yours now if you can.

I'ts such a hype on a russian forum about this device! I even developed an application to make sure I buy it... :sail:

Unfortunately, when I had the device bought, my bank blocked the transaction for some reason. Almost missed my chance :D

Sorry, the kick starter campaign for that board failed and we did not go into production with it. However we are about to launch a new version of the 502DAC pro that will have an separate board for the headphone amplifier. There will be two versions, one with the LME49600 op amp and another with the single tube amp, same as the 502HTA.

There will be a kick starter campaign for this in May. I will be releasing preliminary drawings and information regarding it week after next.

    Cheers,
    Michael

I rechecked a couple times but whatever I try, my board still don't want to be detected...

    Hi @Michael Kelly

Can you recommend a thermal pad solution for the Pi3's CPU, used with the 502DAC and it's case? Something cheap and effective?

My Pi3 running Mood OS v4.1 seems to be getting close to 70 deg.

I know that temperature is fine but just wanted see if putting a thermal pad should help?

    Cheers

Nice, thanks. Was yours in the high 60's deg C like mine, before adding the heat sink? Or were you always in the 50's?

    Cheers
