    April 21st, Saturday.

What are you guys excited about getting? I am very curious what you guys looking forward to getting.
I will sit down, right after this post and make a list of what I would want to get.

I always enjoy the special releases and tend to find other NON RSD releases that I come home with.

Maybe we can also offer to help each other complete any wants...if you go to some stores where you don't find what you're looking for, maybe someone from the forum might find a copy at their local store. Post here if so everyone has one place to look. Just an idea...

I only want stuff that can no longer be had, like Bill Evans Portrait in Jazz in MONO.

Anyone have more info/recommendations on the Dilla release and Pink Floyd mono?

My locals hold back on their used records stock for rsd, really frustrating coming from a regular.

I'm only looking for RSD exclusives (I don't need another copy of Jeff Beck 'Truth'), don't want 7" or 12" singles, Patton Oswalt and Cheech And Chong? seriously WTF, and Taylor Swift dear god no no no. So:

    -Allman Brothers
'Atlanta Pop Festival' (available on CD, not a priority)

    - B-52s
    -Rock And Rockets Live'

    -Steve Earle And The Dukes
    'Live From The Continental Club'

    -The Lone Bellow
'Live @ Grimeys' (10", but I like TLB and I have a tiny 10" collection going. They're just cute as a goddam bug!)

    -Pink Floyd
'Piper At The Gates of Dawn' (mono, I need some more monos to justify buying a mono cart. How's that for a rationalization.)

    -Iggy Pop
    'Live @ The Ritz'

    -Tom Waits
'Brawlers, Bawlers, Bastards' (3 separate 2LP records)

    -The Wipers
    'Live @ The Met'

If there was a possibility of buying all of these (there won't be) I wouldn't, but it's just a list of what I might get depending on what's available. Who knows what any of them sound like, or what kind of pressing QC they were given. Maybe buy 2 or 3. Or none. We'll see!

Prices are bloody stupid this year (seems even worse than usual), but I enjoy camping out in line so I'll be doing that from about midnight tonight. Won't be buying a ton of stuff though due to those prices. Main things I have my eye on are albums that are silly £££ for existing pressings plus the less expensive Grant Green Resonance release...

    Ben Kweller - Sha Sha
    Fickle Pickle - Sinful Skinful
The Heads - Everybody Knows We Got Nowhere
    Jobriath - Jobriath
Grant Green - Slick! Live at Oil Can Harry's

I'd love the Erased Tapes 3LP release but it's £115 ! Also the Floyd mono Piper release but that's £40. Crazy.

Woo! Grimeys! That's my go-to record store here in Nashville.

Sadly, I never get to go on RSD since it's just too crowded. This introvert can't handle it.

01:45 and still just me here. The queue was much longer at this point last year. Lol I'm such a saddo hanging around outside a record store, surrounded by pissed up people leaving the pubs :).

Haha! That's great man, will you be able to stay awake all night? Hang in there, you're doing this for the rest of us! I'm just going to get up at 7 and wander over to one of the two record stores in my town and see what's what.

I want to get a good master of the Mingus 'Ah Um' album. Is the ORG 45 rpm version the best? Not sure if this would be something you can find on RSD.

Not unless it's a rsd release. Its different every year with rsd releases, you can find the list published online for whatever they're releasing this year. The grant green, pink floyd and Jeff Buckley look sweet, prob other stuff too. As for Ah Um, the ORG 45 is sweet, or else classic records -- there's a 45 single sided 4LP version and a 33 version. First pressing too but it's hard to find a non noisy one.

Well, that was pretty ace. The hours flew by, chatting with many of the same guys I queued up with last year. Some of them made me feel reassuringly reserved in my record purchasing habits! Sadly no Grant Green for me, but I got the rest of my wish list...

Hope everyone taking part in RSD finds what they're after!

Nice. I really wanted that Erased Tapes triple but the price was nuts.

Just got back - plenty of copies of everything I wanted. Everything was super smooth and easy. Now time to unwrap, catalog, listen, and read line notes. Should be a good day.

It's one of two I got, pretty small selection to choose from, but no worries, I've got gobs of new records to play.

The O. Coleman is a Bernie Grundman master, pressed at Pallas on clear vinyl, so everything's pointing in the right direction. Will give it a clean and a spin shortly and report back.[IMG]
