I should have brought mine up to the meet, it's a different ball game with all my upgrades.

I'd like to see a model with another arm column for two in total. Maybe three. No doubt part of the sound is the solid metal without any coupling between the arm base and main bearing for the platter.

It looks like there is no arm base per se. Just the stanchion of the skeleton plinth with the unipivot spike pressed in, which is coupled to the inverted bearing in the middle... No?

Exactly, that's what I meant by the "armbase". The column or stanchion where the unipivot spike is pressed in. Similar principle to how the TNT "Hot Rod" models eliminated the armboard and just drilled the armbase into the plinth, but in this case, there isn't even an armbase - just the spike into the frame.

Mine now has a rubber mat aaaaaand It sits dormant. I need to sell it off but I feel bad selling it to anyone. I do live in the land of the hipsters, they'll just use it for ornamental purposes anyways. I'll find someone on craigslist. But no, don't buy a SL w/o intentions to heavily modify it. Or by the new one which I have seen good reviews for, but probably still don't.

Do you know if there are any plans for advanced speed control? I would love to see Schiit leverage some of their microcontroller work that is in the DACs and come up with their own speed controller. Phoenix is no longer available and there is an existing market of belt driven tables that they could cater to in addition to their own table.

I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the information requested but, hypothetically, if such data were to exist, the subject matter would be classified, and could not be disclosed.

I can send Jason some requirements so if such a product were eventually made, that it might have some compatibility with existing motors.

Shit I just a Scout II with the Classic platter for 750 bucks. I wonder if this will be an upgrade over that.

Now Schiit just needs to make a periphery ring that magically doesn't cost one bajillion dollars!

    Anyone notice this? http://www.schiit.com/products/jil

I haven't seen any discussion about it.

Edit: Ah, thanks @Dino, I was trying to google it and search within the site but the engines came up empty.

Most of the Jil discussion is in 'The Mike Moffat (#2 at Schiit) Blog'.

Three characters don't register, even in the Super Search.

We might have to consider a nickname that is actually longer than the Schiit product name, for the first time.

Jil the Ripper. 'Ripper' should be fine as a search term, and currently yields only very few matches.

Oh, and wait till we get to Sol...

You should open a thread and tell the story-provide pictures and your thoughts on before/after sound, including your 'The Wand'. I've always thought those looked interesting.

I saw a brief ad for 'The Wand' in a UK magazine quite a while back. (I don't think it looked like fiber carbon then, but maybe it was the b&w low res pic). For some reason it looked interesting. I still wonder about it from time to time.
