    Very awesome headphone.

LOL! Yes, certain stats have their strengths. But IMO, also their weaknesses.

Actually I was referring more to the Coke vs. Pepsi --> 600 vs 650 debate. But of course, stats rule!

I've never lived with the 650, but after seeing so much hype now I'll probably pick up a pair and see what I think. I've always been a big 600 fan (why did I sell them to CEE TEE?) so it will be interesting.

Agree. I'm a big fan of the HD600s myself. To some they maybe a little forward, but if so, I like them that way.

One of the drivers for my HD650 broke while I was disassembling it. I'm going to buy replacement drivers. Should I just buy one, or buy two for them to be matched?

That's a good question. Drivers on the HD6x0 lines seem pretty consistent. I would buy one and see.

Now I wished I had measured drivers from different HD6x0 using the exactly same levels across headphones when I had a few at the same time.

Crap. I have Marv's modded HD650 in the house. Using balanced out of the V2, big, spacious, clear, warm bass, beats the heck out of my HD600 (though running SE) out of the V2 at the same time. Will be getting a pair of these. Definitely. Hope to have time to A/B with Zana Deux too.

Okay- the HD600 sound much better on the V2 balanced output vs SE as well...but a little grainier & less relaxed.
I am definitely looking forward to V2+ for these and now I need to get another dang HD6X0 cable for TRRS adapter capability.
Anyone want to trade a 3-pin XLR HD cable for a 4-Pin one???
Differences between the HD600/HD650 are now smaller after identifying that the SE vs. Balanced was a BIG factor. (Either that or my Zu Mobius SE cable is constricting stage, etc.) But, the refinement with HD650 treble without losing detail/treble pushes me over the edge to finally own both. Older HD650 are absolutely not my cup of tea. These newer ones just shine. After I have both for a while, then I can consider selling HD600 (again).
Won't have enough time to roll cables and sources/amps until after I have my own modded HD650 (smoother treble than my HD600).
    I can say V2 > Balanced Output > HD6X0 = very impressive,fun rig. :D Now where's the best site to ensure new-run HD650 at good price???

Thanks CEE TEEE, cuz I have the V2 and the HD600 but have not converted to balanced. Might need to give that a go.

CT, hold on, man. Wait at least until Saturday to hear a modded HD600 first. Oh, and a modded HD800, too. :D

Or just get an HD650 because it takes less work to get where it needs than it does to mod an HD600. :p

Oh no, fixing the FR is trivial now. It's the detail retrieval that I'm after. :p

Honestly, having a stock HD800 in (thanks to CEE TEE) was a revelation, and it was basically a 9/10 situation for me. The modded HD600 (and by convention, HD650) can extract about 90% of what the stock HD800 can. Granted, maybe my amp is holding the HD800 back, but... I don't think so. The HD600/650 really are very capable headphones.

This is definitely worth the cable or adapter effort, ultra. Since you have the V2.

Okay! Not mad at my unmodded HD600, just find the modded HD650 smoother and that slight bit more enjoyable upon quick comparo today. I'm lucky to try your modded HD600 before I make a move.

You can do balanced output with GO V2.
