A spare stock HD650 cable, re-terminated. Sennheiser sell the 650 cable for sensible prices in most countries.

I was really excited to see this release until I realized it wasn't bundled with an Apogee Groove.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LISTEN WITHOUT THE BUNDLE!?!?!?!

I contacted the US Sennheiser rep a few days ago and he said stock hd650 cables were currently in-stock for $14 a pop, you can save a few bucks if you reterminate.

Impact Audio Cables on Etsy are customizable and look great at $68.

I can +1 that Impact recommendation. They do very good work, the cables are high quality, and customer service through etsy messaging is easy. They even reterminated a cable I had previously bought from them for $15 plus one way shipping to them.

I agree they do great work at reasonable prices and lead times. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention I just sent my iem cable back because one channel had the polarity switched at the 2.5mm balanced connector. CS has been great so far, I just sent it back for repair.

I'm embarrassed I used it for months , not really suspecting much and that I just didn't care for the particular CIEM . Single ended always sounded better to me with it though, and I finally checked the pinout lol.

EDIT: Wow, turnaround repair was one day, on the weekend too, very impressed in that regard

Not bad, people are recommending the Jotun (twice so far, along with the Oppo HA2 and Bottlehead Crack).
I really want to hear the Jotun+650!

Someone recommends HA-2 to power HD6XX over there, I'd rather look for used GO450

FWIW I felt the HD650 and Oppo HA-2 was pretty lackluster. It could get volume high enough (4/5 on high gain was fine) but just sounded really flat and non dynamic.

With easy to drive stuff I liked the HA-2 well enough, it just didn't have it for the 650

The 14 pages of speculation was charming really...all on a forum that prides itself on avoiding too much hype. Very revealing about the high opinion of the HD-650s. Looking forward to trying one.

Already have a GO450 to run it out of and perhaps with the high impedence they will sound good out of vintage amplifiers as well. I already have an old HD598 and I have always wondered how different they are from the HD6XX series

I used to have the GO450, it was underpowered for the HD650.
