It gets even better! The owner at Phasure just reported that after 30 days of burn-in, the "Lush" USB cable gets even better!

You know, it always makes me wonder why those products don't come pre-burnt in then...

Wow, I couldn't tell if that Synergistic Research video was real marketing or a Woody Allen spoof....

Ah man, this makes me feel sad. That couple seems like perfectly nice, friendly, cultured people. And they obviously have a deep appreciation for music and sound reproduction. They dont appear to be your standard noveaux riches throwing their money at everything fancy without thinking twice. (The kind of subhuman that populates the whatsbestforum...). But then they're so obviously fooled, so willingly fooled and so gullible towards all this shit.they believe in the power of their subjectivity so much, but dont understand how the power of their mind fools their own subjective experience. And the cat, oh the cat...All that shitty wind-chime music and the golden buddha just completed the picture really...

    So... its just unfortunate... :)

All of us are audiophiles, right? We love music. We wouldn't form forums like this if we were content to buy an hifi and then just listen to music for ever. Whether we are in the 'phones-per-week category, or the amps-per-decade category, we are all, to some extent into gear. Maybe most of claim to be sane --- but then so do the buyers of everything from crazy ethernet cables to universe-defying pebbles. They are all sane. We are all sane, right? I wonder if there are any among us (self included) who have never bought or done anything downright silly for our systems. Even if it was only green pen on a CD or wiping some magic fluid (other than genuine contact cleaner) on the connectors?

And decent, educated, reasonable and thoroughly nice people, who hear a difference with their $000 cables tell me, "look... I have an engineering degree..." as if that makes them immune to being fooled by stuff in which they want to believe.

What a pity people can't be happy just to spend their money on damned-beautiful (aurally and visually) speakers. Or cocaine and women.

Well, they have me beaten. I am utterly at a loss to know if any of that makes any sense or none at all.

    Beaten... but not buying.

Can't tell. I guess this thing is suppose to move the amp operating range up, and out of the noise floor range. Does it matter? No idea.

FWIW, for impedance-sensitive IEMs a la the Andromeda, the IEMatch seems to make some sense. Granted, the use case is rather limited, but I'd hardly classify it as snake oil. Perhaps "extremely niche" is a better fit.

Must admit I have once tried one of those snake oil things hoping to get better results. It has been advised by one of these charlatans to put your cd in the freezer for an hour before playing it back. I sure did it. It was rather cold and distant. Then I put it in my cd player and everything was back to normal. Hallelujah!

I vaguely remember that putting one's CD in the microwave is... dramatic.

Plainly, it is just showing up the bad mastering!

Would bricks in washing machines be too far off topic? Yes, ok, they would.

Wow, what a snake pit that place is!

I don't dare look how much that stuff costs... but you are getting nano-diamond carbon particles for your money! And they don't go black. And... Well... other stuff. I'll stick to DeOxit, thanks. And that's quite pricey enough.

(Actually, there is Stabilant. Much more expensive than DeOxit, and apparently able to work actual engineering miracles. Might just make my mouse switches immortal! But mice are cheaper)
