Mjölnir audio stuff, which sounded decent to me. Perhaps a good pairing with the HD6x0s, but probably HD800 may not apply.

I wish @MikeMercer could have attended this meet because he would have been the guy to best describe how I felt inside. So I'll let you guys imagine what he might have written by throwing in a few words and phrases such as epic, soak-in up, insane, etc. I'm not going to even try to channel Mike.

Most of you who attended knew how I felt: a huge amount of contentedness and joy. Sometime in the afternoon, I looked around the rooms in a semi-dis-bodied kind of of state, repeating to myself: Holy crap, this is a really nice meet. The the best one I've been to ever. I could not believe how so many of you guys came from so far away. I know most of you aren't rich. So putting aside your next amp or USB de-fuckifier upgrade is a testament to what quality human beings you are. Or maybe what super geeks we are.

At first I was worried a little bit about turn-out. Even though I made it obvious from the beginning that this was a non-commercial event, I wanted to make sure the vendors were well served. It would had been fine for me personally if only seventy people showed up. But in the end, about 170 people showed up. It didn't seem that way, because the rooms were super large, and some people came in later and left early. The peak hours seemed to be around 1-2pm. There was still a pretty large contingent of us after 5:00pm.

I'd like to thank everyone who attended. It's because of all of you that this event was possible. I'd also like to thank the anonymous high-roller donors who have made this event and many of the high-ticket loaner items possible. It's been a long time since I've had such at these kinds of events*. It's nice getting to meet people in real life, making new friends, and not feeling like a piece of meat herded through loud crowded rooms. Great quality venue. Large rooms. Good sound-deadening. Great AC power line quality. Driven by the hobbyists. Great People. Great vendors: Ken (ALO), Larry (LH), Alex (AZ), Darin (OOYH), Doug (ECP), Donald (DNA), Dan (MrSpeakers), and Craig (EC). It just happened that these are the brains behind their respective operations too.

*I'd like to thank the HF CanJam organizers for taking a break on the tradeshows in California to allow other folks to run hobbyist-oriented meets.

 

If the Mrs. comes, I will get my wife to come too. She avoids these things because there are so few girls. Maybe they can talk about how their husbands are so geeky.
