HD800 for $1,000 CAD (Approx $740 USD), in store only.

 

Yeah full retail is $3300, usually available for ~$3k at most dealers. $1500-$2000 is what you'll find in the used market (with or without cart or dustcover & in varying condition). There were a few different versions of the tonearm through the years, but I didn't look that closely at the one listed on AA; it's likely the most recent version but I'd call them up to confirm. $2k for a new table is a pretty good deal.

damn - seriously, if any of you folks out there are looking for (ugh... hate the term...) "endgame" TT "starting points" either of those deals are f'ing fantastic. if i wasn't pinching pennies for Gungnir Multibit/freya/vidar all at once, i'd be on that Classic 2 like a mothfuckle.

Edit - there's b-stock Classic 3's for $2799 there, too.

 

That Classic 3 b-stock is a hell of a deal! That's less than I paid for my Classic 2 SE. Someone needs to snag it.

Glad someone was able to use it, those ebay deals are so spur of the moment, they usually only last 2-3 hours tops.

 

I used the ebay coupon to replace the German RCA 'David Bowie - Diamond Dogs' CD that was stolen from me. Brought the price down from "I don't think so" to "Um, okay". I'm happy.

An especially amazing find since word is that everything above SN#0010 is bass-light and veiled even though neither Sennheiser nor CEETEE will openly acknowledge any revisions. Too bad the best pairing amp (the ‘original’ o2) is no longer made; though you can get a clone for ~$2000 if you look hard enough.

This is almost true. Equally rare are SN#0003, 0004, and 0007.

 

The thing is, the guy probably thinks it will get sold soon at that price because of the number of people visiting it per hour/watching the listing.

I'm watching it to see if someone falls for it and pays him that much money.
