Well I popped in to the Schiitr this afternoon, played with some gear and talked with Jason for a few minutes. Very cool place. SBAF's Golden Schlong award for the Modi Multibit is proudly displayed.

I found out what the Eitr is. It should be a big seller. Nothing earth shattering and they are not the first to make one, but Jason promises that it has Mike's seal of approval. However, Project Manhattan is on the horizon and it will be revolutionary. Jason talked a bit about it but its in its early stages. Everyone at Schiit HQ who has tried tracks treated with it prefer it over the untreated tracks, unanimously. I think he mentioned that it was blind tested as well and the results were the same, not sure about that though. As always with Schiit, it works with the digital music and CD's you have, no new files to buy. Anyways, an afternoon well spent. Thanks again to Jason and the crew for the hospitality and the willingness to talk about products that haven't been announced yet.

They said that there will be greater headphone selection after Can Jam wraps. The current premiums to demo are the Ether (original), HD800, ZMF Omni and Beyer T1. There was a higher end Grado and a 400i as well. You are welcome to bring your own headphones.

I will add the the Eitr is offering something many of us want at a price we haven't seen before. I feel like we say that for almost everything they make. :headbang:

... Heheh. Schiit Eitr. So we'll have a schiit eater to go with our beef roast?

Also ugh, I wish I didn't have to wait the next few weeks to find out what it is..

Edit: If it really is a USB -> SPDIF converter, I'm totally buying one just so I can have the schiit eating beefroast stack, literally just for the sake of the joke.

According to Jason on another forum, no for insurance reasons, the bar implements are left from previous decorative touches. Anyway, you'd not want alcohol to disturb your critical listening, right <ducks/>

Thanks @TheIceman93 for the pics. Maybe it's a DDC with more connection options like a breakout for PCIe input as well as SPDIF, BNC, and AES/EBU outputs for each of their DACs?

Nice pics, thank you! If I wasn't a million miles away, I'd certainly call in.

Love the decor. Some of the chairs don't look too comfortable. Which is probably wise :)

Looks Awesome! Did you listen to the Salk's or LS50's? Is that the latest Vidar w/Heatsinks on the sides?

What, exactly, is the Schiitr? It looks like a listening lounge set up by Schiit? Is it at their building? Or somewhere else? And the Eatr sounds promising. I hope it does exactly what we think it does.

Very nice! It's like Schiit's tables at CanJam, but without all the noise.

@schiit, where's the New York store?!

I'll bet if they were zoned as a(n audio) gallery that just happened to also sell their art, rather than as a store, things would be a bit more lax in regards to alcohol. Not that I would, uh, have any personal experience with this sort of thing...

O, to be of the unwashed mass, oblivious to all that is good in audio, and in that moment of serendipity, happen upon this place, this Schiitr, with all of the treasures it keeps within. O, for in such a fortuitous fashion, to have thine ears opened by the Schiit would be wondrous indeed, for the Schiit is good, and the Schiit is just, and the Schiit, it does not stink.

I went over to Schiit's website and found the press release. http://schiit.com/news/news/schiitr-retail-store-opens
    An excerpt:
Schiit announced the opening of the "Schiitr," it's first retail store, today. The Schiitr allows customers to listen to the vast majority of Schiit's product line in separate, dedicated headphone and speaker rooms. It also provides a comfortable place to sit back, relax, and enjoy some coffee or tea, which are complimentary.

"We've been having customers ask us for factory pick-up or a dedicated demo room for some time," said Jason Stoddard, Schiit's co-founder. "Our factory isn't the ideal place for that, so we decided to go one better, and create an environment where people might want to simply hang out."

There's more at the link and but I wish @schiit and @baldr all the success in the world with it.
