They don't come up very often. From memory, that is around the same price as buying a new HE-5 modded to Code-X by Luis (when they were actually available...)

At that price, better to just get the HD600 for $234 from Adorama on the current deal, especially because the used headphones have HD600 and not HD580 drivers.

Different balance tonaly, but you are correct - probably better off buying new w/ warranty than 15-20 year old cans.

But.... if someone had to have 580 and was willing to risk it - a lower offer wouldn't hurt.

Edit: See posts above - I'm a dummy

Holy guacamole, it's a HeadRoom BlockHead!

Not exactly cheap at $2299, but it's being sold by HeadAmp so the condition is likely excellent. Price doesn't seem too onerous, considering its rarity. One monstrous amp, there.

The affordable accuracy is damn good for $200.

The Peachtree I suspect will be decent for $200 as well but you're paying for the USB DAC, the phono pre, etc. I've had good experiences with their previous indiegogo campaign for the deep blue 2 :)

The bad advice I'm referring to is you telling me to get the 2way philharmonitors because they'd be better for close wall placement on my desk when the 3way bmr is available with the super nice Salk cabinet with FRONT ports! Grr. I'm only kidding I love my philharmonitors

The 3 ways sound terrible close wall even with a port plug. The 2 way sounds awesome with a port plug :). You lose some extension but the rest is solid.

The BMR port is on the back even on the Salk cabinets (which apparently aren't available for a while because Jim Salk was overwhelmed with orders).
