you beat me to it. that's a pretty crazy asking price, even if the HE-5 is discontinued. you'd need to pay Luis another bundle of money to make that into a Code-X which imo is the only way to use an HE5!

Ah. Sorry about that. I haven't seen used HE-5's for sale and thought that someone might be looking for one to potentially get it modded to the Code-X.

hey man you have nothing to apologize for, it's not as if you're the one setting too high a price for a used HE5. zero's message was more directed at the seller haha. i imagine that the ad will be up for a while, so there's a good chance the price will continue to drop gradually (if the seller wants to sell it anyway)!

SFD-1 mk2 for $699. It doesn't look perfect, but not bad. It's been a while since I've seen one under $750.

Fitear TG334 available here for $960, compared to the new price on Alo Audio ($1399) it seems like a decent deal.

    FS: Emotiva BasX A-100
    $140 shipped

hell of a deal. I wish I could justify it, but I literally have low end speaker amps sitting in the garage not being used.

Note, the A-100 has a moderately good headphone output too, but it's primarily a speaker amp. It' not small by desktop standards, but it's small by full size stereo amp standards. Add a Chromecast Audio or Airport Express or Alexa Echo Dot and some ELAC Debut speakers, and this is a great extra room stereo.

Oh. Just read this: "A pair of internal jumpers allows you to bypass the dropping resistors and route the amplifier outputs of the A-100 directly to the headphone output – and avoid the need for messy external adapter cables." I wonder if it's any good with the HE-6?

Unless you need the compact form factor, I'd go for a used crown AB like the x1000.

Meh, the first version of that amp was a horrible fotm/y that people kept pushing on the planar crowd. It was decent as a speaker amp (I've got no complaints there; nice class a/b amp for a cheap price), but supremely underwhelming on the HE-6. For the $200ish, it was at a weird spot for me. I'd sooner recommend a Topping amp at half the price, or a used Bryston 2B at double that. Both of those hit better value per dollar than the Emotiva in my opinion.

But good price on a new account with no feedback... buyer beware.
