    Don't know where to post this, but I became the understudy for the voice of GLaDOS in Portal 2 months ago. Nobody I know cares, but I'm losing my shit as an actor.

    Maybe I'm stupid but what do does this mean exactly? I thought "understudy" was an actor who replaces the regular actor in case he or she can't make it. But Portal 2 came out many, many years ago. Is this a play at a theatre? Something like this: https://riotheatretickets.ca/events/5311-the-geekenders-present-portal-2-the-musical ?

    I think an understudy is kinda like an acting version of a squire, but I am probably wrong.

    Now all you need to do is ask yourself "what would GLaDOS do?" if she was the understudy instead of the lead performer. Lol.

    Seriously though, that is pretty cool.

    ruh-roh, I've managed to avoid Overwatch until now but figured I'd see what the fuss was about during the free weekend. It's rather fun isn't it? I'm particularly enjoying playing a healer, which is my traditional class in team games. I think it's a keeper.

    I still play Overwatch at least 1-2 hours a week, as my wife also enjoys it. Single player gaming is decidedly more rare, but the new Wolfenstein is next on my list.

    Sorry for the total noob VG question, and you can tell me to go punt, but thinking about getting my kids (13, 8 & 8, both girls and a boy) a new console this holiday. Their old one is a Wii U, and was looking at the Switch, but realize there's no apparent reason to stick with Nintendo as they went from discs to cartridges, so no backwards compatibility (ugh). The flexibility of the Switch is appealing so the kids can take it with them, but don't know the real trade-offs compared to the other options (seems to mostly be PS4 and Xbox One).

    So the QQ is this - If you had to buy one console for a set of kids around this age, what would you suggest? Any and all thoughts greatly appreciated!

    Personally for that age group I think I would recommend the switch, between the new (very good) Mario, excellent Zelda BOTW, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 etc. you have some great games for the younger kids which will still be great with the eldest.
    The portability makes it good to take on road trips also.
    Though it should be noted that as a PC gamer, I am fairly biased towards the Nintendo system as it is the only system different enough for me to justify owning it (Portability, Nintendo exclusive games etc.).

    @mscott58

    I'm not disagreeing with TeskR but the Switch is fairly new and doesn't have that many games yet, also the good games that are tend to be expensive since it's a new platform.

    Another good option if you want value might be to look at picking up a second hand PS4 that someone is selling with 10 games or so to go along with it. Shouldn't cost you more than a new switch with 2 games or so. Try to scan some ebay and craigslist ads for people that are selling and have had kids that age, then the games that go along with it are probably good.

    Here are some games to keep a lookout for: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2015/06/03/15-ps4-games-kids-fun-whole-family/#/slide/1

    Another option might be to just pick up some more games for the Wii U. They're not that expensive these days. I'm not sure if your kids care about a new system or not, some do and some don't. The switch is nice but it's not THAT much more powerful than a Wii U, it's more that it's portable. Which could be nice of course if they can play nice with each other.

    I second the PS4 for cheap games. It costs about 200usd with a couple of bundled games as part of the BF deal. Also you can find fairly cheap games on amazon. Plus there are a lot of kid centric games.
